Quang Trung 1 Kindergarten: Where parents place their trust

(Baonghean) - As one of the first kindergartens built in Vinh City, over the past 35 years, Quang Trung I Kindergarten has always created trust among parents and students about the quality of childcare. With the efforts of a team of dedicated, professional, and child-loving staff and teachers, the school is honored to be one of the first 6 kindergartens in the city to receive the title of National Standard School Level 2 this school year.

Quang Trung I Kindergarten was established in 1978 under the name Quang Trung 1 Kindergarten. In the early years of establishment, although the facilities were spacious and ensured the care and education of children, the school's educational activities still faced difficulties due to the fact that the teacher training level was mainly at the preschool level, parents' awareness of the education level was limited, the investment of all levels and sectors for the education level was not much, the number of children attending class was still low, and they did not attend school regularly, which significantly affected the quality of care and education. However, the quality of childcare at the school was still improving day by day, gradually gaining the trust of parents, so the number of children attending class increased every year.

With those results, in 1979, the school welcomed the late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong to visit. That honor created motivation and encouraged the spirit of dedication and creativity in teaching methods to continuously build a good teaching and learning environment among the school's teaching staff. Teacher Tran Thi Ngoc - who has many years of teaching experience at the school, recalled: "After more than 10 years of establishment, the school's facilities and teaching equipment were somewhat degraded and outdated. When there were no conditions to invest in new, modern equipment and toys, the school launched a competition movement among teachers to explore and create learning tools from scrap materials to make class and playtime more lively for children...".

Thanks to the close and scientific direction of the management team and the unity of the school community, along with many good practices that have overcome all difficulties to create an effective teaching and learning environment, the school has always created trust for parents when sending their children to study at the school, creating excitement for the children every day they go to class. In the 2004-2005 school year, the school was honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal from the President and achieved the title of National Standard School Level 1. These titles have added to the school's spirit of striving to set the goal of building a National Standard School Level 2.

Talking with Ms. Le Thi Cam Hien - Principal of the school, we learned that in the process of striving, the school has always received the attention and close direction of the higher education departments and branches, especially the direction of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and mass organizations of Quang Trung ward. Besides, the contributions and support of parents have also created favorable conditions for the school to complete the proposed plans.

Up to now, teachers and students of Quang Trung I Kindergarten have been taught and studied in a spacious, airy school with an area of ​​4,517m2. The school landscape is green - clean - beautiful, close and friendly to children. All 15 classrooms meet standards, teaching equipment and facilities are complete and modern, meeting the requirements of current preschool education innovation.

Being taught in a modern environment with modern facilities and equipment, the school focuses on improving the professional qualifications of teachers and staff to meet new development trends. Every year, the school plans for 100% of teachers to participate in regular training, summer training, and specialized training under the direction of the Department of Education and Training, the City Department of Education and Training such as: "Improving the quality of meals for children in preschools"; "Improving the quality of education and physical development for children in preschools"; implementing well the movements: "Building friendly schools, active students", "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh"...

In addition, the school also creates conditions for teachers to self-study and self-train in many forms to improve their professional qualifications and skills such as supporting each teacher with 500,000 VND in office computer training. Opening training classes on applying IT programs with a duration of 10 extra-curricular sessions/1 teacher. In addition, the school regularly organizes class visits, observation, competitions on making tools, toys, competitions on designing electronic lessons... to encourage the spirit of competition in teaching well, studying well in teachers and students. Therefore, currently 100% of teachers and staff meet the standards, of which over 60% are above the standards; 100% of teachers know how to apply information technology in teaching activities...

In addition to focusing on building a team of experienced and highly qualified staff, the school always puts the ethics of staff and teachers first. Ms. Pham Thi Van - Vice Principal of the school said: "Children at preschool age are often likened to blank pages, easily following adults, so it requires each teacher to be exemplary in their lifestyle, speech and language for the children to follow. Therefore, the school always focuses on effectively implementing the industry's movements on "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh", "Each teacher is a model of ethics, self-study and creativity"...".

In the 2014-2015 school year, the school had 568 students. The children were well-behaved and healthy, attending class regularly. 100% of the children were guaranteed safety, good health care and nutrition when attending class. The percentage of children with type A health was 97%. The number of children who developed to meet the standard requirements in the regulations on preschool education goals set by the Ministry of Education and Training was 98%. These figures affirm the efforts of the staff and teachers in the process of caring for and raising children. In the past school year, the school was awarded the Emulation Flag by the Provincial People's Committee and recognized as a Provincial Excellent School. For many consecutive years, the school was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and recognized as a Provincial Cultural Unit.
