Quang Trung I Kindergarten was established in 1978 under the name Quang Trung 1 Preschool. In its early years, although the school had modern facilities to ensure the care and education of children, its educational activities faced difficulties due to the teachers' training level being mainly at the elementary level, parents' awareness of early childhood education being limited, and insufficient investment from various levels and sectors. The number of children attending classes was low, and attendance was inconsistent, significantly impacting the quality of care and education. However, the quality of childcare and education at the school has steadily improved, gradually gaining the trust of parents, resulting in an annual increase in the number of children attending classes.

With those achievements, in 1979, the school had the honor of welcoming the late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong. This honor motivated the teachers to dedicate themselves and innovate in teaching methods, continuously building a good teaching and learning environment. Teacher Tran Thi Ngoc, a veteran teacher at the school, recalled: “After more than 10 years of establishment, the school's facilities and teaching equipment had become somewhat dilapidated and outdated. Before we had the resources to invest in new, modern equipment and toys, the school launched a competition among teachers to find and create teaching aids from recycled materials, making lessons and playtime more lively for the children…”

Thanks to the close and scientific guidance of the management team and the concerted efforts of the entire school staff, along with many effective methods that have overcome all difficulties to create an efficient teaching and learning environment, the school has always earned the trust of parents when sending their children to study there, creating enthusiasm for the children every day at school. In the 2004-2005 school year, the school was honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal from the President of Vietnam and achieved the title of National Standard School, Level 1. These titles have further motivated the school to set the goal of building a National Standard School, Level 2.

In a conversation with Ms. Le Thi Cam Hien, the school principal, it was learned that throughout its development, the school has always received close attention and guidance from higher-level education departments and agencies, especially the guidance of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee, and other organizations in Quang Trung ward. In addition, the contributions and support of parents have also facilitated the school's completion of its planned objectives.

To date, the teachers and students of Quang Trung I Kindergarten have been teaching and learning in a spacious, airy, and well-equipped school building with an area of 4,517 square meters. The school's landscape is green, clean, and beautiful, creating a warm and friendly environment for young children. All 15 classrooms meet standards, and the teaching materials and equipment are complete and modern, meeting the requirements of current early childhood education reforms.

Taught in a modern and well-equipped school environment, the school places even greater emphasis on improving the professional qualifications of its teachers and staff to meet the demands of new developments. Annually, the school plans for 100% of its teachers to participate in regular training, summer training, and specialized training courses as directed by the Department of Education and Training and the City Department of Education and Training, such as: the specialized course "Improving the quality of meals for children in preschools"; the specialized course "Improving the quality of physical development education for children in preschools"; and effectively implementing movements such as: "Building a friendly school, active students", "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh"...

Furthermore, the school also facilitates teachers' self-study and professional development through various forms to improve their expertise, such as providing each teacher with 500,000 VND to support their computer skills training. They also organize training courses on applying IT programs, with 10 sessions per teacher held outside of class hours. In addition, the school regularly organizes classroom visits, observation sessions, competitions for making teaching aids and toys, and competitions for designing electronic lesson plans… to encourage a spirit of competition in teaching and learning among teachers and students. Therefore, currently, 100% of the teaching staff and employees meet the standards, with over 60% exceeding them; and 100% of teachers are proficient in applying information technology in their teaching activities…

In addition to focusing on building a team of experienced and highly qualified staff, the school always prioritizes the ethics of its teachers and staff. Ms. Pham Thi Van, the school's Vice Principal, stated: “Children at preschool age are often likened to blank pages, easily influenced by adults, so it is even more important for each teacher to be exemplary in their lifestyle, speech, and conduct for the children to emulate. Therefore, the school always focuses on effectively implementing the industry's campaigns on “Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh,” and “Every teacher is a moral example, a self-learner, and a creative individual…”

In the 2014-2015 school year, the school had 568 students. The children were well-behaved, healthy, and diligent in attending class. 100% of the children were ensured safety and received good care in terms of health and nutrition. The percentage of children with health rating A was 97%. The number of children meeting the developmental standards set by the Ministry of Education and Training for preschool education was 98%. These figures affirm the efforts of the staff and teachers in caring for and educating the children. In the past school year, the school was awarded a Commendation Flag by the Provincial People's Committee and recognized as an Excellent School at the provincial level. For many consecutive years, the school has received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and has been recognized as a Provincial-level Cultural Unit.

The achievement of National Standard Level 2 is a source of joy and a milestone marking the culmination of all the efforts and endeavors of the school's staff, teachers, and employees. Proud of the prestigious achievements the school has attained, the teaching staff is even more determined to perform their duties better, constantly innovating and developing in all aspects, contributing to the care of early childhood education, and living up to the trust placed in them by parents and all levels of government.
