Trung Do Secondary School receives national standards: New motivation

(Baonghean) - Proud to be a school in the land of Trung Do with a rich historical tradition, over the years, the collective of teachers and generations of students of Trung Do Secondary School (Vinh City) have strived to teach well and study well. In particular, in the 2014-2015 school year, the school was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a National Standard School. This is one of the factors promoting the school's teaching and learning activities, striving to become a high-quality school in the city's education and training system.

Located in the South of Vinh City, on Phuong Hoang Street leading to Quyet Mountain, Trung Do Secondary School has an area of ​​nearly 4,237 m2. The school campus is built spaciously, harmoniously, and beautifully, including: a system of high-rise classrooms; a library with 4,285 books, an electronic classroom with networked computers.internet (electronic lectures, test questions, excellent student exam questions, lesson plans,...); has a traditional room, playground, 220 m2 multi-purpose house... The school's teachers and students are always aware of promoting the tradition of the historical land of Trung Do, concretizing it with actions to constantly improve the quality of teaching and learning.

Since its establishment, Trung Do Secondary School has achieved many proud titles and achievements. In the 1979-1980 school year, the school was recognized as the unit with the best moral education movement for students in the city, the school's "Blue Bird" Youth Team was recognized by the Ministry of Public Security. From 1998 to 2000, the school achieved the title of advanced at the provincial and city levels. In 2002, the school was recognized by the Vinh City People's Committee as a "Cultural Unit". In the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 school years, the Provincial People's Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit for excellent performance; the school's Trade Union was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial Labor Federation for outstanding achievements. In the 2014-2015 school year, after many years of striving, Trung Do Secondary School was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting national standards. Receiving this good news, the collective of cadres, teachers, students as well as parents in Trung Do and neighboring wards were really excited and considered it an important motivation for the journey of striving in the following years.

To improve the quality of teaching, in recent years, Trung Do Secondary School has focused on implementing many synchronous solutions. Every year, the school has plans and creates conditions for teachers and professional groups to participate in activities and improve their professional qualifications. As of September 2014, 20/34 teachers have achieved the title of excellent teachers from the city level and above, reaching a rate of 58.8%; 100% of teachers have met the standards according to the regulations on professional standards for secondary school teachers. Every year, 50% of the school's staff and teachers participate in projects to innovate experiences, improve teaching facilities and equipment; many models are highly appreciated and effectively applied to teaching. During that process, the school's Board of Directors and Party Cell always organize and implement well the study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh. The teaching staff always clearly identifies building a friendly educational environment and each teacher is an example for students to follow. In the 2013-2014 school year, the school was inspected by the Vinh City Department of Education and Training and ranked as good in the emulation movement "Building a friendly school, active students".

In implementing the assigned tasks, the school has complied with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on the organization time and content of educational activities inside and outside of class hours. During that process, the school assigned teachers to strengthen tutoring and knowledge training for students in appropriate groups. Therefore, the quality of mass education has been improved, the quality of spearheads has had outstanding achievements: The rate of good and excellent students every year reaches over 67%, of which, excellent is 22%, poor is only about 0.5%; the annual graduation rate reaches 98% or more. In particular, the number of students taking the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and Vinh University is ranked at the top of the city (5th/24 secondary schools in the city). In the high school entrance exam, in 2013 - 2014, the school was ranked 23rd/465 secondary schools in the province.

Throughout the process of construction and development, the Party Cell of Trung Do Secondary School has always had timely and practical policies and resolutions to improve the quality of teaching and learning. For many years, the Party Cell has achieved clean and strong status, and has been highly appreciated by the Party Committee of Trung Do Ward. Last year, 2 comrades were commended and rewarded by the Party Committee of the Ward for their achievements in 3 years of implementing the campaign "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh".

The school’s success today, besides the efforts of the school’s staff and teachers, has the attention and investment of the Party Committee, the ward and city authorities, and especially, the active support of parents. In recent school years, parents have contributed hundreds of millions of VND to help the school purchase and replace equipment and teaching aids; in the 2013-2014 school year alone, the socialized source mobilized over 300 million VND.

Receiving the title of national standard school is an important event, a source of pride, and a motivation for the staff, teachers and students of Trung Do Secondary School to continue to strive to build the school into a high-quality educational and training unit of Vinh City, and a trusted address for students and parents in Trung Do ward and neighboring wards.
