Vinh University High School for the Gifted adjusts admission method for grade 10
In the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, Vinh University High School for the Gifted will organize 4 exams instead of only 3 exams like previous years.
Today,Vinh University High School for the Giftedannounced the admission method for grade 10, school year 2025 - 2026.
Accordingly, in the 2025-2026 school year, the school will enroll 10 classes with 350 students in specialized classes in Mathematics, Information Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature and English, with a maximum of 35 students per class. Of which, the specialized Math class will enroll 2 classes and the specialized English class will enroll 3 classes. The number of specialized classes will decrease by 1 specialized Literature class compared to the previous school year.

Regarding the subjects, the school recruits students nationwide with the condition that candidates must have a good or higher academic ranking and training in 4 years of middle school. The specialized subject exam score must be 7.0 or higher. Specialized classes in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology take the Natural Science subject score.
According to the school's announcement, candidates who meet the preliminary requirements will take 3 first-round exams (Math, Literature and English) and 1 second-round exam in a specialized subject.
In round 1, the Math and English exams will be multiple choice. Math will be 90 minutes and English will be 60 minutes. The Literature exam will be an essay exam with a duration of 120 minutes.
In specialized subjects, the test time for each subject is 150 minutes. The specialized subject exam is organized according to each specialized class. For the specialized class of Information Technology, candidates can choose Math or Information Technology. Specialized classes of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology will take the Natural Science exam in different content streams depending on the characteristics of each subject.

According to the school's plan, the 10th grade entrance exam will be held over 3 days from June 10 to 12, 2025. The first round exam score is calculated on a 10-point scale, the second round exam score is calculated on a 20-point scale. Admission score = Specialized subject exam score x 1.5 + Total score of the first round exams.
Thus, with this announcement, this year's 10th grade entrance exam has a change in the first round of the exam. Accordingly, if in the 2024-2025 school year entrance exam, candidates only have to take a multiple-choice test with 2 subjects: Math and English, then in the 2025-2026 school year entrance exam, candidates must take tests in all 3 subjects: Math, English, and Literature. The exams are also graded independently.
