Yen Thanh 2 High School Celebrates 50th Anniversary
(Baonghean.vn)- On November 15, Yen Thanh 2 High School (Yen Thanh district) celebrated its 50th anniversary and received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.
Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen The Ky - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, a former student of the school; leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An, leaders of Yen Thanh district and teachers and students of the school through the periods.

In September 1965, in response to the wishes of the people in the district, Yen Thanh High School was split into two schools: the old school was named Yen Thanh 1 High School (now Phan Dang Luu High School), the new school was named Yen Thanh 2 High School, located in Bac Son hamlet, Bac Thanh commune. At first, the school had only 6 classes with 300 students and nearly 20 staff and teachers.

In the 2015-2016 school year, Yen Thanh 2 High School turned 50 years old. Over the past half century, generations of teachers and students have written glorious history, building the brand of a school with a long tradition in the rice district of Yen Thanh.
The school's training quality is always at the top, with a graduation rate of over 99%; the number of students passing university and college entrance exams each year is from 300 to 450, accounting for 70% of grade 12 students taking the exam.

Notably, since the 2013-2014 school year, the graduation rate reached 100%, the school had 39 students achieving provincial-level excellent students. Typically, in class 12A4, 44 students took the university entrance exam with an average score of over 24 points, including the valedictorian of Hanoi University of Pharmacy. In the 2014-2015 school year, class 12A4 had 45 students taking the university entrance exam with an average score of over 25 points; many students were exemplary in overcoming difficulties in their studies, achieving high scores in university entrance exams, and were commended and rewarded by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
With the achievements over the past 50 years, the Prime Minister awarded a Certificate of Merit to Yen Thanh 2 High School; the school's collectives and individuals were also honored to receive certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Provincial People's Committee.
