Not just studying, here are 5 'secret formulas' that help Nghe An education create historical miracles
The results of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam recorded Nghe An's breakthrough when it rose to 1st place out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide. This is considered a "miracle", especially given the characteristics of a province with a large number of candidates and many schools in special and difficult areas.
The achievements are not accidental but the result of a process of effort, while implementing many drastic and effective solutions.

Exam support
The image of teachers squeezing sugarcane juice, cooking red bean porridge, buying milk and cakes to nourish 12th grade students has become a normal thing in many schools in Nghe An during each graduation exam season. Although the work is very small, behind it is a lot of affection from teachers and parents towards the students.

With an average score of 7.33 points, Yen Thanh 2 High School this year rose to the top 5 in the 2025 high school graduation exam rankings, just behind top schools such as Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Ethnic Minority Boarding High School No. 2, Do Luong 1 High School, Vinh University High School for the Gifted, up 13 places compared to the previous exam season. The school has 2 students with the highest graduation exam scores in Yen Thanh district (old) and many students are in the top of the province.
3 years ago, this generation of students had an entrance score of only 11.5 points, nearly half did not meet the average score and this was the school with the lowest quality of students in the district.
In order to gradually improve the quality of teaching, Yen Thanh 2 High School has assigned responsibilities to each teacher and required specific solutions for each group of students. At the end of each semester and each school year, there are comparisons and assessments. In the 12th grade, although teaching and learning encountered many difficulties and were greatly affected by Circular 29, all teachers in the school unanimously taught extra hours, extra periods and organized hundreds of free extra teaching sessions for students.
Near the exam date, in order to be determined to "conquer the 2025 High School Graduation Exam", teachers and parents often do meaningful things such as squeezing sugarcane juice, giving gifts, and giving rewards to encourage and motivate candidates.
Classify students, teach the right subjects
This year's exam season, from 20th place, Quynh Luu 1 High School has also risen to 6th place in the province with an average score of 7.29 points and many subjects with very high average scores such as Literature at 8.34 points, Physics at 7.9 points, Geography at 8.04 points...
Talking about the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, teacher Ho Sy Nam Thang - Principal of Quynh Luu 1 High School, said that classifying students to teach the right subjects is extremely important.

We have organized 5 mock exams and after each exam, the school requires teachers to accurately evaluate each student to have a suitable teaching plan. When the exam date is near, the class is divided into two or three and teachers volunteer to teach extra sessions to tutor and improve the students.
In addition, determining that this is the first exam to be implemented according to the 2018 General Education Program, right from grade 10, the school has innovated teaching methods, testing and evaluation methods, and familiarized students with the new way of setting questions so that students are not confused.

Hands on
5 students achieved 10 points, 14 students achieved graduation exam scores of 32 points or higher, many students achieved a combination of 3 subjects above 27 points, which are special achievements of Que Phong High School in this year's exam season.
Meanwhile, at Quy Chau High School, class 12 C1 with nearly 80% of students being ethnic minorities successfully finished with 34 students having a combined score of 25 to 29.

To achieve this common success, it is impossible not to mention the role of the leaders and experts of the Department of Education and Training when in early April this year, the Department's consulting team went directly to Quy Chau High School to deploy a consulting topic, guide review and graduation exam review for more than 200 subject teachers from high schools in Quy Chau, Quy Hop and Que Phong (old) districts.
Nationwide, few localities have established a consulting team that continuously traveled for nearly 2 months and visited 91/91 high schools to directly develop exam review plans, determine the content, duration and appropriate review methods according to the target, exam subjects, and how to compile competency assessment questions.
Through consulting, high schools have overcome limitations such as determining inappropriate content and arranging review time, lack of diversity in review forms, compiling competency assessment questions that are not properly structured, and after the mock test, there is no feedback for students on their knowledge and test-taking skills.

Build a free test bank
2025 is the first year of taking the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program with the exam consisting of competency assessment questions.
In preparation for the new General Education Program, Nghe An Education Department is the only province in the country to organize training for teachers in the entire sector to help teachers confidently organize teaching according to the new program.
In addition, to prepare for the new test format, the Department has trained teachers early on the techniques of compiling questions to assess students' abilities according to the Ministry's test structure. From there, a question bank has been built for use in teaching, testing, evaluation, and mock tests.

Before the 2025 graduation exam season, the Department of Education and Training also organized 3 direct mock exams for students across the province and after each exam, analyzed the results to direct teaching and review for schools.
In addition, the Department has built an online test system LMS according to the new test structure for students to take free practice tests in all subjects. Thanks to this system, students can self-assess their abilities in each topic and each stage to promptly adjust their review, and schools can collect statistics to serve the management of teaching and review.
90 days acceleration
The 2024 - 2025 school year is the second year that Nghe An Education sector has launched the emulation movement "90 days and nights determined to achieve high results inHigh school graduation exam". The activities, which lasted from mid-March until before the graduation exam, were carried out by schools with many practical activities, such as signing emulation commitments between schools, classes, and professional groups...

During the implementation process, the whole industry also set a target of 100% of units building new models and good practices suitable to actual conditions. 100% of units motivate and encourage teachers and workers to perform their professional tasks well, achieving the highest results in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.
This year's emulation movement is set in a context where the entire industry is heavily affected by the implementation of Circular 29 regulating extra teaching and learning. However, overcoming difficulties, 100% of schools in the province have organized extra teaching for more than 38,000 12th grade students to participate in thousands of exam review sessions.

The high school graduation exam is the final stage of the school year, playing the role of both a "steering wheel" and a "motivation" for teachers and students. In Nghe An, since the implementation of the new General Education Program, education has always received attention from the province and localities, relevant departments and sectors, from support in terms of facilities, teaching equipment, and building national standard schools.
To achieve this result, I also appreciate the efforts of teachers and students of the province. The results achieved demonstrate the tradition of studiousness of Nghe An, the hard work of the teaching staff, educating students with all affection, responsibility and love.
Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of Department of Education and Training
