Helping students stay mentally strong before the 2025 High School Graduation Exam
Before the upcoming important exam, parents need to accompany and share with students so that they are mentally stable and ready to overcome all difficult challenges.
"4T Principle" helps to keep your mind steady for the exam
Coming from the Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism, Master of Psychology Pham Thi Phuong said that academic pressure is becoming a major concern, leading to many mental health problems among high school students in Vietnam.
This is no longer just a warning, but has become a social reality as the number of adolescents with mental health problems continues to increase from 13% in 2021 to 25% in 2024.

Of these, 18.6% had mental health problems that could lead to depression. Only about 5.1% of parents of adolescents perceived their children as needing help for emotional and behavioral problems.
Especially during peak periods when students take transfer exams, high school graduation exams to apply for university and college, stress and anxiety increase.
Therefore, you should "Think positively" and consider the exam as an opportunity to develop yourself instead of a pressure. An exam cannot fully assess your ability.

Students should divide their study time into small parts, "Avoid cramming". Smart learning is more important than the number of study hours. At the same time, have a scientific plan to master your time.
Relax your body and mind: Candidates apply relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, listening to relaxing music, and doing light exercise to reduce stress every day.
Healthy habits: Students need to get enough sleep, eat regularly and supplement with brain-healthy foods such as fish, eggs, nuts, etc. to have the best physical and mental health for the exam.
Parents are the support for their children in the exam
Master Pham Thi Phuong presents the "3D rule" for parents to be a solid support for their children during and after the exam.
Don't set expectations too high: Help your child develop their strengths instead of just forcing them to achieve high results. Set expectations based on their abilities and capabilities.

Empathize and listen: Instead of talking about expectations and exam results, parents should not compare and create pressure, but ask their children how they feel, what they are worried about, how they need their parents to support them... to reduce pressure.
Encourage the right way: Recognize your child's efforts, remind them that no matter what the result, they still have value. Don't wait for the result to praise them, encourage them throughout the process of effort. Always show your child that they are still wonderful to you and give them the motivation to try harder.
In particular, if the exam results are not as expected, you should not be discouraged. An exam does not determine the future, consider it an opportunity to learn and improve. The exam is just a milestone on the journey of growing up, the result does not determine your future life.

Explore other paths: If you do not achieve the desired results, there are still many other paths for your children to develop. Parents and children should be open-minded and sit down together to choose another path that best suits them. Success does not have only one path.
Persistence and effort: Success comes from perseverance, not from a single exam. If you have enough passion and perseverance, you will definitely reach your desired goal. If you stop persevering, there will be no tomorrow. Continue to write your dream.
"These principles will help students and parents maintain a stable mentality before, during and after the exam, turning each challenge into an opportunity to grow, making the exam not become stressful pressure, but the child is still the child, the love of parents for the child is still full - Success is like this sky, not just for one person" - Master Pham Thi Phuong emphasized.
