National wanted notice for former Director of Eximbank Binh Duong

The police investigation agency has issued a nationwide arrest warrant for Mr. Dao Thanh Truong - former Director of Eximbank Branch in Binh Duong.

On the afternoon of July 28, Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Phuc, Chief of Di An Town Police, Binh Duong Province, announced that he had decided to prosecute the case and prosecute Dao Thanh Truong (54 years old, permanent residence in Ho Chi Minh City) for the act of "fraudulent appropriation of property."

However, Dao Thanh Truong has now fled the area and is wanted nationwide by the Investigation Police Agency.

According to the initial investigation, during his time as Director of Eximbank Binh Duong Branch, Dao Thanh Truong "asked" more than 40 households to use their names in the documents to mortgage their assets to borrow from the bank where he was the Director to get billions of dong to invest in the real estate market.

When the real estate market was in trouble, causing a series of urban land plots and houses that Truong had speculated on to not be sold in time, in order to have money to pay off the bank debt, Truong borrowed money from many people to pay off the debt, even mobilizing his subordinates to stand up and borrow more than 5.5 billion VND from many other people for Truong to pay off the debt.

However, the debt was getting higher and higher, and with no ability to pay, Truong fled his residence. In connection with this case, Di An Town Police arrested 5 suspects. The case is being further investigated.
