Wanted: "Fake Lieutenant General" who swindled billions from businesses

(Baonghean.vn) - Ha Tinh Provincial Police have prosecuted and issued a nationwide wanted warrant for Nguyen Thien Huong (born in 1951, hometown Dong Vinh ward, Vinh city, Nghe An) for fraud and property appropriation.

According to the investigation agency's records, Nguyen Thien Huong (also known as Bay 'cut') claimed to be a lieutenant general working at General Department 2, Ministry of National Defense, and then defrauded dozens of individuals and organizations across the country.

'Assisting' Bay Cut is Tran Van Nhut (born in 1958, residing in Phu Hiep hamlet, Phu Hoa Dong commune, Cu Chi, Ho Chi Minh City) who also claims to be a colonel, working at General Department V, Ministry of Public Security.

This couple went to many places such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai... and then tried to connect with businesses, boasting that they had many relationships and the ability to "run" projects and constructions.

Using this method, Huong and Nhut have defrauded dozens of individuals and organizations of a huge amount of money. According to the investigation agency, initially, the police determined that the subjects had defrauded and appropriated the property of 5 victims with a total amount of about 7 billion VND. In addition, 12 individuals and organizations have just contacted the PC45 Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police to report that Nhut and Bay "cut" had defrauded them of money.

On February 28, Ha Tinh Police coordinated with Southern C45 Department and Tra Vinh Police to urgently arrest Tran Van Nhut.

Currently, Ha Tinh Provincial Police have prosecuted and issued a nationwide wanted warrant for Nguyen Thien Huong and are expanding the investigation of the case.
