Collecting and handling tax arrears of over 93 billion VND
(Baonghean.vn) -On January 10, the Steering Committee for Tax Collection and Debt Settlement of Vinh City held a conference to summarize the work of tax collection and debt settlement in 2012.
According to the Steering Committee's report, the task of collecting and handling tax arrears was carried out from May 4, 2012 to December 30, 2012 with 217 units having debts of over 100 million VND, the total debt to be collected was 97 billion 250 million VND. The Steering Committee established 4 interdisciplinary inspection teams to collect and handle tax arrears. By December 30, 217 enterprises had been inspected by the interdisciplinary teams; the total amount of tax and fines collected was 93,535 billion VND (of which, tax arrears were 50,228 billion VND, land use fees were 43,307 billion VND).
Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Chinh assessed the results of tax arrears collection and settlement.
To achieve this result, the delegations applied many drastic measures, including making decisions to enforce by withdrawing money from accounts of 829 enterprises (collecting 17.2 billion VND); to enforce the seizure of assets of 21 enterprises and business households (collecting 2.7 billion VND); to enforce by collecting through a third party for 8 enterprises and business households (collecting 115 million VND); to enforce by suspending the use of invoices of 15 enterprises (collecting 729 million VND).
At the summary conference, members of the Steering Committee, leaders of Vinh city, the city's Tax Department... evaluated the results achieved, pointed out the shortcomings and forecasted the city's socio-economic situation in 2012 to find solutions for implementation in 2013.
