Searching for the subject pretending to be a plumber who stole more than 1 billion VND
Pretending to be a plumber, taking advantage of the homeowner's carelessness, the subject broke into the victim's bedroom cabinet, took 200 million VND and 35,000 USD, and then escaped.
On August 29, the Investigation Police Agency of District 6 Police (HCMC) is extracting security cameras to search for a subject who pretended to be a plumber and stole 200 million VND and 35,000 USD from the family of Ms. NTY (born in 1951, residing on Van Than Street, Ward 8, District 6).

That same morning, Mrs. Y. was home alone when a man wearing a shirt and trousers came by on a motorbike and rang the doorbell. This man said that Mrs. Y.'s son had hired him to fix the water pipe in the bathroom, so Mrs. Y. opened the door and let him in.
After going to the bathroom, the man asked Ms. Y. to lend him some tools to fix the plumbing. Taking advantage of the time when Ms. Y. went downstairs to get the tools, the man sneaked into her daughter’s bedroom, broke open the closet, and took 200 million VND and 35,000 USD.
When Ms. Y. returned upstairs, the man said he was going out to buy more supplies to fix the plumbing. When the man did not return, Ms. Y. checked and discovered that her property was missing, so she reported it to the police. Upon receiving the report, District 6 Police arrived to investigate the scene, take statements, and extract camera footage to search for the suspect.
This is the 5th theft in the past 2 months in District 6. Most recently, on August 27, a family had their closet broken into and 140 million VND stolen using a similar method.
