Police in Krong Pa district, Gia Lai province have identified the subject who robbed a forest ranger’s gun to clear a path for a truck carrying illegal timber to escape. The police are currently investigating this subject to handle him according to regulations.

According to observation, the vehicle was carrying 3 wooden boxes (about 90 cm wide, 25 cm thick) and the 7 subjects were carrying long-handled machetes. Leading the way was a subject riding a modified motorbike.
The inspection team signaled the vehicle to stop for inspection, but the subjects drove away, forcing the Nam Song Ba forest rangers to draw their guns and fire into the air. However, the wooden vehicle did not stop, and one of the seven subjects jumped out of the vehicle and wrestled with the police force's gun. Then, the remaining six subjects rushed forward, using machetes to threaten and intimidate the working group. When the force had just managed to lock the barrel and remove the magazine, these subjects jumped into the wooden vehicle and escaped.
Considering the seriousness of the case of resisting a law enforcement officer, the Krong Pa District Police, Gia Lai coordinated with the Krong Nang District Police, Dak Lak Province to conduct an investigation.
