Prosecution of defendant Truong Huy San for the crime of 'Abusing democratic freedoms'
The Supreme People's Procuracy has completed the indictment to prosecute defendant Truong Huy San for the crime of "Abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals" as prescribed in Article 331, Clause 2 of the Penal Code.
The Supreme People's Procuracy has transferred this case file to the Hanoi People's Court for study and trial according to its jurisdiction.
According to the indictment, from 2015 to 2024, Truong Huy San (born in 1961, residing in Ward 14, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) collected information and documents, drafted and posted on his personal Facebook "Truong Huy San (Osin Huy Duc)" many articles, including 13 articles with contentinfringing upon the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals. These articles have a large number of interactions, comments and shares, causing negative impacts on security, order and social safety, so it is necessary to handle them according to the law.
During the investigation, Truong Huy San stated that the information for the article was collected and evaluated by himself. The accused was aware that the content of these 13 articles affected the interests of the State and the rights and legitimate interests of a number of organizations and individuals, but had no intention of opposing the Party or the State.
