Children's book by "father" of James Bond released in Vietnam
The work "Kít Kit Bum Bum - Famous Supercar" by writer Ian Fleming has just been released in Vietnam.
The famous supercar (original name: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) by Ian Fleming (1908 - 1964) revolves around a strange car named Kitty Kitty Boom Boom. One day, Lieutenant Colonel Caractacus Pott - an explorer and inventor - discovered an old car. That old, dilapidated object used to be a supercar that knew all the racetracks across Europe. After buying the car, Caractacus carefully restored it, using all his knowledge and innovative inventions to make Kitty Kitty Boom Boom reappear with a new look.
Together with Caractacus Pott and his wife and two twins, Kit Kit Boom Boom went through thrilling adventures. In each adventure, the monster car showed a new ability that surprised all members of the Pott family, such as flying through the air in traffic jams, gliding on the water, crossing the strait, going through dangerous underground tunnels...
The suspense characteristic of the James Bond series of novels is also expressed by writer Ian Fleming in this children's work through the Pott family's commitment and confrontation with dangers on their journey to discover a mysterious treasure.
Kit Kit Boom Boom - The Famous Supercar was written in the early 1960s when Ian Fleming had just recovered from a serious illness. The work was inspired by the stories he told his son Caspar before bedtime. The book was first published in England in 1964. Two months later, the "father" of James Bond passed away. Kit Kit Boom Boom - The Famous Supercar attracted millions of young readers around the world. The work was also adapted into films, musicals and inspired later books.
