Reuters news agency reported that “Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang passed away after suffering from a serious illness.” Reuters said that President Tran Dai Quang passed away at a military hospital because he “had been seriously ill despite efforts by professors and doctors at home and abroad to save him.”

The news agency also reviewed milestones in the life and career of President Tran Dai Quang. Reuters also interviewed a number of people in President Tran Dai Quang's hometown.

The news agency also quoted the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) in Hanoi, Mr. Adam Sitkoff, saying: “He is the first Vietnamese President to meet and talk with us at the US-Vietnam Business Summit.” Mr. Sitkoff said that President Tran Dai Quang “is a person who has great faith in improving relations between the US and Vietnam.”
