Patriotic tradition was fostered by the Nghe Tinh Soviet of martyr Le Ngoc Duc's family.
The demonstration on September 1, 1930 is considered the starting point marking the birth of the Soviet government in Nghe Tinh - the peak of the 1930-1931 revolutionary movement nationwide. During that period, comrade Le Ngoc Duc was shot by the enemy and fell during the demonstration at the age of 27.
Thanh Thinh Commune (formerly Thanh Nha) is a land with a tradition of patriotism and revolution in Thanh Chuong (Nghe An). Throughout the history of the nation, from this land, many outstanding children have bravely stood up to fight, writing their names in the golden history of the Party with their contributions to the revolution of their homeland, in which the most typical is martyr Le Ngoc Duc.
Martyr Le Ngoc Duc was born in 1903, in a poor farming family in Thanh Nha village, Vo Liet commune (now Thanh Thinh commune).,Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province). His father is Le Ngoc Man, his mother is Pham Thi Man, both are hard-working farmers and have a patriotic spirit. Le Ngoc Duc is the 12th generation descendant of the Le Ngoc family, Thanh Thinh commune. Le Ngoc Duc's grandfather is Bachelor - Instructor Le Ngoc Khai.

After invading Vietnam, the French colonialists set up a governing apparatus to brutally exploit our people. Nghe An belonged to the Central protectorate, they established the Resident's Court to directly direct the administrative system of the Southern Dynasty feudalism from the province, district to the villages and communes. In the entire Thanh Chuong district, they established 5 cantons and 78 villages and communes to manage and rule. In Thanh Chi commune, Thanh Chuong district, Thanh Qua station was built by a French officer commanding a team of green-clad soldiers to protect the Vo Liet district office and suppress the people's uprisings.
As a child, Le Ngoc Duc was intelligent and quick-witted. Growing up in a country under colonial rule, he witnessed the oppression and exploitation of feudal colonialists and their brutal injustice in his homeland every day, so he soon became aware of the revolution and deeply hated the enemy.
After the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930), under the direct direction of the Central Party Branch of Central Vietnam, the Conference of delegates of Thanh Chuong Communist Party cells was held at Tien Son Temple (now Thanh Long Commune) on March 20, 1930. The conference elected the Provisional Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Thanh Chuong District. The conference decided to convert the Indochinese Communist Party cells in the entire district into Communist Party cells of Vietnam.
The establishment of the Thanh Chuong District Party Committee marked a historic turning point for the patriotic movement of the people of the entire district. From here, the Communist Party of Vietnam of Thanh Chuong District - the Party of the working class and laboring people, a genuine revolutionary organization took on the historic mission of leading the people of the entire district to rise up and fight for national liberation and class liberation.
After the conference, Thanh Chuong District Party Committee assigned cadres to propagate and build Party bases in the localities. At that time, villages such as Thuong Tho, Thanh Nha, Ba Son (now Thanh Thinh commune) were near the district center and quite safe, so they were soon enlightened by comrades in the District Party Committee.
On July 13, 1930, under the chairmanship of comrade Dinh Xuan Giai, the Giap Tu Party Cell was established. The cell had 7 party members, with comrade Phan Trong Lien as Secretary. From then on, Thuong Tho village entered a new phase. After the Giap Tu Party Cell was established and mobilized people to participate in mass organizations, Le Ngoc Duc began to participate in revolutionary activities.
Under the leadership of the Giap Tu Party Cell, farmers from the villages of Thuong Tho, Thanh Nha, Ba Son and other areas such as Cat Ngan, Dao Ngan, Tho Son, Van Ba, Hanh Lam, Di Luan, Dai Dong, Vo Liet, Hoa Quan... organized a demonstration of force to suppress counter-revolutionaries and had the active participation of comrade Le Ngoc Duc.
During this time, the struggle movements of the Thanh Chuong people developed strongly, typically the district-wide demonstration on September 1, 1930. From the night of August 31, 1930, the Red Self-Defense teams guarded all roads and ferry terminals to isolate Thanh Chuong district from villages and communes. Leaflets were distributed in many crowded places, red flags were planted on the roofs of communal houses, temples, trees and high mountain tops.
At 1 a.m. on September 1, 1930, after the drums sounded the command at the high peaks of Xuan Lam commune, on Tien mountain (Vo Liet commune), Nguoc hill (Ngoc Son commune) and Sung Bo mountain (Thanh Huong commune)..., the whole Thanh Chuong district was bustling with the sound of gongs, bamboo clappers and the cheers of the people marching towards the district office. Following the guidance of the Party cell and the Farmers' Association, the masses from the designated gathering places were organized into teams, led by those holding flags and banners. The Red Self-Defense Forces equipped with rudimentary weapons were arranged on both sides to protect the demonstrators and prevent the enemy from infiltrating the ranks.
Comrade Le Ngoc Duc actively participated in the demonstration, contributing to the victory of the struggle that caused the enemy government to disintegrate. The Soviet government was formed in almost all villages and communes in Thanh Chuong district. The demonstration on September 1, 1930 is considered the starting point marking the birth of the Soviet government in Nghe Tinh - the peak of the 1930-1931 revolutionary movement nationwide.
To protect the Soviet government, mass organizations were constantly strengthened and expanded. The feudal colonial government was extremely frightened, and in order to suppress the revolutionary movement, they brutally suppressed it.
Like the Vinh - Ben Thuy area, the French colonialists placed Thanh Chuong under martial law. The colonial and feudal government established a system of "bang ta" (mandarin) from district to commune and village. They often came to the villages to shoot, kill, arrest, burn houses, and rob.
On October 6, 1930, legionnaires at Thanh Qua station raided Ngoc Lam village to arrest people and rob property. Immediately, drums and gongs sounded, and thousands of people from Vo Liet, Cat Ngan, and Dai Dong communes came to surround and overwhelm the enemy.
Panicked, the French colonialists opened fire on the people, killing 103 people, including comrade Le Ngoc Duc. They then marched their troops to Thanh Nha Palace. Here, many soldiers brutally tortured revolutionary soldiers and those they suspected of being communists.
Fighting bravely and falling in a protest at the age of 27, the sacrifice of comrade Le Ngoc Duc is a great loss, leaving behind sorrow for his brothers, comrades, people and family.

Following in the footsteps of his father Le Ngoc Duc, his son Le Ngoc Tham volunteered to join the army, hoping to contribute to protecting the country, participating in the resistance war against the French and sacrificing himself in the Hoa Binh campaign on January 22, 1952.
