From January 1, 2013, visa fees for Vietnamese people abroad will increase.

From January 1, 2013, the fee for issuing visas and temporary residence cards in Vietnam for foreigners and Vietnamese people residing abroad will be adjusted higher than the current fee.

Specifically, the fee for a single-entry visa will be 45 USD instead of the current 25 USD.

Currently, multiple-entry visas are divided into two categories: visas valid for less than 6 months with a fee of 50 USD and visas valid for 6 months or more with a fee of 100 USD. From January 1, 2013, multiple-entry visas will be divided into three categories: visas valid for less than 1 month with a fee of 65 USD, visas valid for less than 6 months with a fee of 95 USD, and visas valid for 6 months or more with a fee of 135 USD.

In case of transferring visa or temporary residence from an expired old passport to a new passport, the fee is 15 USD instead of 10 USD as at present.

The fee for issuing a temporary residence card has also been adjusted to increase by 20 USD. Specifically, the temporary residence card valid for up to 1 year will increase from 60 USD to 80 USD; the temporary residence card valid for over 1 year to 2 years will increase from 80 USD to 100 USD; the temporary residence card valid for over 2 years to 3 years will increase from 100 USD to 120 USD.

The above contents are specified in Circular.190/2012/TT-BTCamend and supplement Circular No.66/2009/TT-BTCdated March 30, 2009 of the Ministry of Finance regulating the collection, payment, management and use of fees for issuing passports, visas, papers on entry, exit, transit and residence in Vietnam.

The provisions of Circular 190/2012/TT-BTC take effect from January 1, 2013.
