From May 1: Patients undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy do not have to pay for medical examinations
From May 1, patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy and radiotherapy who are examined by doctors daily according to their treatment appointment schedule will not be charged for examination fees according to regulations.

However, this regulation only applies to patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy and radiotherapy residing in provinces and centrally-run cities at operating medical examination and treatment facilities. In case of severe disease progression, doctors will decide to transfer the patient for treatment and 24/7 monitoring. This visit is considered a medical examination according to regulations.
In addition, from July 1, 2017, the fee for participating in family health insurance will increase by about 7.3% compared to before. The reason for this increase is due to the adjustment of the basic salary from July 1, 2017 to 1.3 million VND (the current basic salary is 1,210,000 VND/month).
The household health insurance contribution rate will increase to the highest level of VND48,000 for the first person in the household. The highest level for the fifth person onwards is VND19,000.
