From May 11-16, the 7th Nghe An Provincial Sports Festival 2014

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 8, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a press conference to promote the 7th Provincial Sports Festival in 2014.

Attending were representatives of leaders and reporters of provincial press agencies, resident reporters of sports newspapers in the province.

The 7th Nghe An Provincial Sports Festival in 2014 had the participation of 21 urban districts and 3 sectors (Police, Army and Agriculture and Rural Development), divided into 2 phases. The pre-opening phase (from February 28 to April 17) organized competitions in 9 events: pole pushing, freestyle wrestling, cross-country, karate, men's volleyball, beach volleyball, table tennis and sepak takraw, the competition venues were in the districts of Quynh Luu, Nam Dan, Tan Ky, Dien Chau and Vinh City. On the rankings, up to this point, Vinh City temporarily ranked first overall, Vinh City temporarily led with 13 gold medals, ranked second and third respectively were Quynh Luu and Nam Dan districts.

The Provincial Sports Festival will be held in Vinh City from May 11 to May 16, with the following events: women's volleyball, athletics, swimming, shuttlecock, petanque, badminton, chess, crossbow shooting, and tug of war. The competition venues during the Festival include the Provincial Sports Hall, Vinh City Sports Hall, Vinh Stadium, and the Provincial Sports Training Center. The opening ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on May 12, 2014 at Vinh City Sports Hall. At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee will award prizes to 7 units that have successfully organized the Sports Festival at the grassroots and district levels, namely Vinh City, Cua Lo Town, Do Luong, Anh Son, Tan Ky, Ky Son, and Quy Hop. At the closing ceremony, awards will be given to the 5 districts, towns, and cities leading the overall ranking and the 3 mountainous districts with the best results.
