From April 16, strict censorship of art performances
(Baonghean) - In the face of increasingly frequent violations in the organization of performing arts activities (such as organizing performances without a license, not in accordance with the content of the license; using the wrong names and stage names of singers and actors approved by competent authorities...), affecting the aesthetic style of some young people, causing public outrage, on April 16, 2012, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Directive No. 65/CT-BVHTTDL on rectifying the organization of performing arts and fashion shows.
Accordingly, the Minister requested heads of agencies under the ministry, Directors of Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and centrally-run cities to carry out the following tasks well: Strictly censor the content and form of performance programs before granting performance licenses, receiving performance licenses according to authority; strengthen inspection and supervision of performing arts activities, fashion shows after granting licenses, receiving performance licenses...
The Inspectorate of the Ministry, the Inspectorate of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the provinces and centrally-run cities are responsible for proactively organizing and coordinating inspections and examinations of performance organization activities, art performances, fashion shows and strictly handling violations according to the provisions of law.
