At around 4:30 p.m. on January 7, listening to his friends, Nguyen Ba Phuc (born in 1998), residing in hamlet 9, Nghi Dien commune (Nghi Loc district) bought KClO3 and sulfur to mix firecrackers.

Because he did not understand the properties of these chemicals, Phuc used a pestle to crush the fuel, causing the mixture of fireworks to ignite, causing the young man to suffer burns to his face, ears and neck.

After the accident, the victim was taken to Nghe An Trauma and Orthopedic Hospital for treatment.
