Talking about the meaningful name of the village, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tam - Secretary of the Party Cell of Village 2-9, Bong Khe Commune said: The village was originally a team of the Military Farm, then transformed into Bai Phu State Farm.

At that time, there was a policy of naming the production teams after major holidays and important events of the homeland and country, so they were named Team 2-9. In 1997, Team 2-9 was transferred to Bong Khe commune to manage as Village 2-9. The villagers were mainly farm workers from the lowlands, coming from many different localities (Yen Thanh, Quynh Luu, Dien Chau...).

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tam - Secretary of the Party Cell of Village 2-9 is one of the leading households in economic development.

Promoting the revolutionary, pioneering and exemplary tradition of the working class, the people of village 2-9 are hard-working, diligent and bold in applying scientific and technological advances to cultivation and animal husbandry. Many households spend 14-15 million VND to build power lines and invest in irrigation systems to develop models of tea intercropped with oranges and tea intercropped with grapefruits, to combat drought in the hot season.

Currently, the village has an agricultural land area of ​​more than 81 hectares, including 15 hectares of tea, 10 hectares of clean oranges, grapefruits, tangerines, guavas, 7 hectares of sugarcane, 48 hectares of biomass corn, and also grows beans, eggplants, squash, pumpkins, peanuts, each season has its own food.

In addition, people have promoted livestock farming with a herd of 44 buffaloes and cows, a herd of 3,650 poultry, and service industries. Thanks to that, the village has achieved an average income of 4.5 million VND/person/month, which according to the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Bong Khe Commune Party Committee, Le Thanh Hai, is "the best income level in the commune with the number of well-off households accounting for more than 64%, and no poor or near-poor households".

Not only taking the lead in economic development, the people of village 2-9 also unite and promote internal strength to build advanced new rural areas. For example, to improve environmental criteria and overcome flooding when rain and storms come, village officials have "gone to every alley, knocked on every door", mobilizing households with drainage ditches running through their gardens to clear constructions, trees, and alluvial soil and rock materials, creating conditions for machinery to dredge 640/814m in length.

At the same time, mobilize 5 inter-family groups to compete in building flower and ornamental tree roads to create a green, clean and beautiful environment. Currently, there are 217 flower vases placed on 1,473m of main road and 1,000m of natural flower roads planted in front of houses. People of village 2-9 also contributed 130 million VND to upgrade the village stadium with an area of ​​2,500 m2.².

Along with economic development, the people of village 2-9, Bong Khe commune are always conscious of cultivating village and neighborhood affection, resolving conflicts, and maintaining peace in the village. The village has a veteran security team and the police who regularly patrol periodically and suddenly, promptly suppressing bad elements, and a drug prevention club with 17 active members, preventing social evils from entering the area.

According to the leader of village 2-9: Welcoming Independence Day this year, people are more joyful and excited because the village has now fully met the advanced NTM criteria awaiting appraisal.

It has become a tradition that on the occasion of Independence Day, villagers excitedly perform on the main stage in the cultural house and play volleyball, and children living far away also come back to gather and reunite in a warm, happy atmosphere.

Turn wasteland into fertile fields and gardens

Also named after National Day, 2-9 village of Chau Khe commune has 136 households and 625 people from Nam Dan district who came to settle down following the new economic policy of the Party and State since 1961. The young workers and the first families who set foot on this land on the country's National Day were named 2-9 village.

Taking to heart Uncle Ho's teaching that "with human strength, stones can turn into rice", the people have worked hard and diligently to turn the wasteland into a prosperous village, with increasingly prosperous life. In 2001, the village achieved the title of Cultural Village, and in 2018, it achieved the New Rural Standard and is currently building an advanced New Rural.

Currently, the entire village 2-9 of Chau Khe commune has 15 hectares of cassava, 16 hectares of rice, 2 hectares of corn, 104 hectares of cassava, 80 hectares of acacia (of which 30 hectares will be newly planted in 2022). In particular, in recent years, people have gradually switched from growing sugarcane to growing 4 hectares of Solanum procumbens with about 40 households participating. The movement of raising buffaloes and cows for breeding and fattening in the village has also developed strongly with 350 cows and 75 buffaloes. Among them, there are many large-scale breeding households such as Mr. Le Van Hau's family with 7 breeding and fattening cows; Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi with 5 buffaloes and 2 cows. In addition, village 2-9 currently has 50 workers working abroad.

Thanks to that, the average income reached 42 million VND/person/year. Village roads and alleys were concreted, the environment was clean and beautiful, village sentiment and neighborhood solidarity were tightened, security was ensured, and cultural, artistic and sports movements developed strongly.

Head of Hamlet 2-9, Chau Khe Commune, Phan Dinh Thuan, said: The Hamlet is making great efforts to build an advanced NTM. Starting with mobilizing people to donate land and assets (trees) to widen the road from 2.4m to 4.5m; taking advantage of the cement source supported by the commune to build 171m of covered ditches to ensure drainage and environmental sanitation, in which people contributed working days and 28 million VND for sand and gravel...

“Everything should be public, transparent and promote democracy so that “people know, people discuss, people do, people inspect” then there will be unanimity. For example, the flag street cluster on the main road was also mobilized by the village youth union with more than 30 million VND from children working abroad to build a youth project” - Head of village 2-9, Chau Khe commune, Phan Dinh Thuan emphasized.
