Commander of the Royal Thai Navy visits the Vietnam Navy
On November 24, a delegation of Royal Thai Navy officers led by Admiral Kraisorn Chansuvanich, Commander of the Navy, visited Vietnam and the Vietnam People's Navy. Admiral Nguyen Van Hien, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense - Commander of the Navy, presided over the welcoming ceremony at the headquarters of the Vietnam Navy Command.

After the welcoming ceremony, Admiral Nguyen Van Hien and Admiral Kraisorn Chansuvanich held talks.
At the meeting, Admiral Nguyen Van Hien reviewed important milestones in the friendly relations between the two countries' armies and navies. Accordingly, since 1999, when the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, the two navies have successfully organized 30 joint patrols in the border waters between the two countries and 17 meetings to review joint patrol experiences; effectively maintaining information channels and hotline communication.
This cooperation activity has been recognized and highly appreciated by the Governments and Ministries of Defense of the two countries; creating favorable conditions for ships and fishermen of the two countries to operate, exploit seafood conveniently and coordinate to promptly resolve situations occurring at sea, contributing to building the border sea area between the two countries to be peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developed together.

Admiral Nguyen Van Hien suggested to Admiral Kraisorn Chansuvanich that in the coming time, the two navies should further strengthen cooperation in the fields of training young officers; training of the Naval Air Force; logistics and technical support; foreign languages and timely coordination to resolve issues at sea and issues of mutual concern.
Admiral Kraisorn Chansuvanich thanked the Vietnam People's Navy Command for their thoughtful and respectful reception and expressed his agreement on the cooperation contents that Admiral Nguyen Van Hien had mentioned. The Commander of the Thai Navy also emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation in the field of joint patrols, maintain information and communication channels to promptly and effectively resolve issues occurring at sea in the coming time, and together with the Navies of countries in the region, build a peaceful, stable and developed East Sea.
