Commander of Military Region 4 visits Economic - Defense Group 4

(Baonghean.vn) -On March 17 and 18, Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Cuong, Commander of Military Region 4, led a working delegation of the Military Region to inspect the task of economic development associated with strengthening national defense and security on the border line of Nghe An province at Economic - Defense Group 4.

The Military Region Commander visited and inspected the pilot artichoke planting model.

The working delegation inspected production teams and economic development models of the 4th Military Economic Group in Ky Son and Que Phong districts; visited and gave gifts to children in communes in the project area who were being treated at the combined military-civilian medical clinic.

In recent times, officers and soldiers of Economic-Defense Group 4 have actively stayed close to the people and villages, performed well the task of propagating to the ethnic people in the Economic-Defense Zone, strictly complied with the Party's policies and the State's laws. The Group has actively helped and guided the people to develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty. In the first 3 months of 2014, the Group has arranged and stably intercropped 10 households in the two districts of Ky Son and Que Phong; provided the people with 58 buffaloes and cows, 30 black pigs, over 28,000 passion fruit and gac seedlings; purchased over 375 tons of cassava tubers, processed and produced 11 tons of vermicelli; models of raising sturgeon, salmon, and wild boar continued to be maintained, bringing high economic efficiency. Currently, the Economic-Military Group 4 is piloting the planting of over 8,000 artichoke, angelica, and codonopsis plants, with initial good growth.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Cuong highly appreciated the achievements of the officers and soldiers of the Economic-Defense Group 4 in the past time. At the same time, he directed that in the coming time, the officers and soldiers of the Group need to regularly coordinate closely with local Party committees, authorities and forces in the area to grasp the situation. Always maintain a high sense of vigilance, high combat readiness, organize serious training, according to the approved plan to handle situations well. Actively stay close to the people and villages to do a good job of propaganda, especially focusing on the task of propagating and mobilizing people not to migrate freely, strictly comply with the provisions of the law. Focus on implementing programs, projects and models to help people reduce poverty with the best results. Focus on effectively implementing new economic development models to propagate and replicate among ethnic minorities to help people develop the economy and improve their lives, contributing to building and strengthening people's trust, and building the Economic-Defense Zone in Ky Son and Que Phong to develop more and more firmly.
