From June 1st, new electricity price calculation method will be applied.
The Prime Minister has just issued Decision 28/2014/QD-TTg, effective from June 1, 2014, replacing Decision 268/QD-TTg dated February 23, 2011 on retail electricity price list, detailing each group of electricity customers including: production, business, administrative, and living.
Accordingly, retail electricity prices according to voltage levels (from 110kV and above, from 22kV to below 110kV, from 6kV to below 22kV and below 6kV) apply to groups of production, business and administrative customers according to the time of electricity use during the day at voltage levels applied to qualified electricity customers, but only stipulate a general retail electricity price group for production industries with a 1% increase in selling price for off-peak hours.
Retail electricity prices for business will decrease by 5% compared to current prices for normal hours, 3% for off-peak hours and 8% for peak hours for voltage levels from 6-22 kV to 9% for peak hours for voltage levels below 6 kV.
For selling electricity for public lighting and administrative units, if using voltage from 6 kV or higher, it is 99% of the average electricity price; voltage level below 6 kV is 103% of the average electricity price.
Retail prices for household electricity are divided into 6 increasing levels to encourage economical and efficient use of electricity.
Specifically, the price of household electricity is adjusted for consumption from 0-50 kWh, the average retail price of electricity is adjusted at a rate of 92%; for consumption from 51 - 100 kWh, this rate is 95%; from 101 - 200 kWh is 110% (currently this range is divided into two levels, from 101 - 150 kWh and 151-200 kWh); from 201-300 kWh is 138%; from 301 - 400 kWh is calculated at 154% of the average electricity price, (reduced from the current rate of 155%). From 401 kWh and above, the cumulative household electricity price is still 159%.
