From September 4, the departure and arrival times of North-South passenger trains will be adjusted.

Vietnam Railways Corporation has just issued a schedule for passenger trains on the North-South railway line to effectively exploit vehicles, equipment, traction, human resources, and increase capacity on the Thong Nhat railway line, meeting the increasing needs of customers and serving the construction of works on the line.

The new train schedule has been built and adjusted to increase the number of stations stopping to pick up and drop off passengers, ensuring a high rate of on-time arrivals and departures for passenger convenience.

According to the new schedule, the daily regular train brands will be adjusted as follows:

Hanoi-Saigon, train SE1 departs from Hanoi at 19:30, arrives in Saigon at 4:39; SE3 departs from Hanoi at 22:00, arrives in Saigon at 5:20; SE5 departs from Hanoi at 9:00, arrives in Saigon at 20:03; SE7 departs from Hanoi at 6:00, arrives in Saigon at 16:05; TN1 departs from Hanoi at 13:10, arrives in Saigon at 2:30.

From Saigon to Hanoi, train SE2 departs from Saigon at 7:30 p.m. and arrives in Hanoi at 4:50 a.m.; SE4 departs from Saigon at 10:00 p.m. and arrives in Hanoi at 5:30 a.m.; SE6 departs from Saigon at 9:00 a.m. and arrives in Hanoi at 7:58 p.m.; SE8 departs from Saigon at 6:00 a.m. and arrives in Hanoi at 3:33 p.m.; TN2 departs from Saigon at 1:10 p.m. and arrives in Hanoi at 3:30 a.m.

Previously, Vietnam Railway Corporation issued a train operation plan on the Thong Nhat Railway route during the 2015 Lunar New Year. Accordingly, trains SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, SE7/8, TN1/2 will be operated regularly.

However, from February 5, 2015 to March 8, 2015, in Hanoi and Saigon, the composition of trains SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, SE7/8 will be adjusted to suit the Tet train schedule and the TN1/2 train pair will be abolished, and the TN17/18 train pair will be operated with the same itinerary as the TN1/2 train pair.

In addition, the Corporation will run additional Thong Nhat passenger trains: SE17/18, SE13/14 and trains TN3/4, TN5/6, TN7/8 between Hanoi - Saigon and vice versa; run additional Thong Nhat passenger trains SE9/10 between Hanoi - Nha Trang before Tet and between Saigon - Dong Hoi after Tet; trains SE11/12, SE15/16 between Vinh - Saigon, trains TN21/22 between Thanh Hoa - Saigon and vice versa.

Train operation time for Tet holiday is from February 5, 2015 to March 7, 2015, divided into 3 stages: before Tet, from February 8, 2015 to February 16, 2015; Tet holiday from February 17, 2015 to February 24, 2015; after Tet, from February 25, 2015 to March 8, 2015.
