Young man in Nghe An fined 4 million VND for admitting he was infected with Covid-19

On April 3, 2020, the People's Committee of Nghia Tien Commune, Thai Hoa Town issued a decision to administratively fine Mai Van Hiep (born in 1992, residing in Nghia Tien Commune) 4 million VND for violating regulations on information, education and communication in the prevention and control of infectious diseases.

Previously, after returning from another province, Hiep told everyone that he had been infected with Covid-19. Tien's information made many people confused.
Upon receiving the information, the Nghia Tien Commune Police Department called Hiep in for questioning. Hiep admitted that he was not infected with Covid-19 and said he said it for fun.
Pursuant to Decree 176/2013/ND-CP dated November 14, 2013 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions in the health sector, the People's Committee of Nghia Tien commune decided to administratively fine Mai Van Hiep 4 million VND and widely notify local people to quickly stabilize the situation.
Previously, Que Phong District Police also fined VVT (residing in Cam Muon Commune) 10 million VND for writing on Facebook, claiming that he had tested positive for Covid-19.
