Artist Tu Oanh, the fierce Mrs. Bich of the film 'The Taste of Love', and her husband - director Bui Thac Chuyen - attended the opening ceremony of the Tokyo International Film Festival on the evening of October 24.

Tu Oanh chose an elegant and graceful white ao dai, and walked next to her husband in a polite black suit. The artist couple took a flight from Hanoi to Tokyo a few days before the event. Tu Oanh will accompany her husband during the days when the film "Glorious Ashes" directed by him competes here and join him in activities on the sidelines of the Film Festival.

This is a rare occasion for artist Tu Oanh to be present with her husband at a film event. The film marks the return of director Bui Thac Chuyen to the 7th art after 10 years, since the horror film "The curse of blood".

The director and his wife reunited with the crew on the red carpet of the 35th Tokyo International Film Festival. From right to left: producer Tran Thi Bich Ngoc, actor Quang Tuan, actress Phuong Anh Dao, artist Tu Oanh, director Bui Thac Chuyen, actress Bao Ngoc Doling, actor Le Cong Hoang.

The film "Glorious Ashes" is based on two short stories "Rotten Firewood Drifting Back" and "Glorious Ashes" by writer Nguyen Ngoc Tu. The work is the first Vietnamese film in history to enter the official competition category of the Tokyo International Film Festival, competing with 14 films from Iran, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Chile...

The muse Phuong Anh Dao radiates in an off-shoulder, beaded dress by designer Dao Minh Nhat. Her short hair gives her a new look. The actress is currently busy filming a new movie in Vietnam, but she took the time to fly to Japan to attend the premiere of "Glorious Ashes". She is one of the three female leads in the movie.

Quang Tuan looks dashing in a tuxedo set by designer Hiep Henry. This is the first time he has attended an event without his wife Linh Phi following him around to support him. In the film, Quang Tuan plays Phuong Anh Dao's husband.

Actors Le Cong Hoang and Bao Ngoc Doling shined in their ton sur ton outfits. Both were excited for their first time at the Tokyo International Film Festival. Le Cong Hoang was born in 1991, known as the poet of Vietnamese independent films, and appeared in "Father and Son and..." and "Say Mom, I'm Going". Bao Ngoc Doling, who has Vietnamese and British blood, was "spotted" by director Bui Thac Chuyen at the age of 13 and played the lead role in "Glorious Ashes" when she was just 18.

Korean star Shim Eun Kyung, the female lead of the movie "Old Granny" is a member of the jury at the Tokyo International Film Festival.

Director Julie Taymor of the films "Across the Universe" and "Frida" serves as head of the jury.

Japanese star Mashimoto Ai is the ambassador of this year's film festival.
