'Pimp' runs celebrity prostitution ring for $15,000
Le Hoang Long, 31, was accused of brokering prostitution for "two famous girls in showbiz" for $15,000 each.
On September 7, Long was prosecuted and temporarily detained by the Criminal Police Department to investigate the crime of Prostitution Brokerage.
According to the police, Long is the manager of several artists and represents many Korean artists when they work in Vietnam. Long is also famous in the fashion industry, attending many famous events in the country and the world. He shows off a rich life and travels abroad frequently.
Authorities allege that, relying on his fame and extensive connections in showbiz, Long operated a transnational prostitution ring. The suspect also brokered prostitution for a number of foreign beauties through his partners for tens of thousands of dollars.

On August 25, detectives caught two girls in Long's ring selling sex at a luxury hotel in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
Long admitted to brokering this deal and that these were "two famous girls in Vietnamese showbiz, who had achieved high rankings in beauty pageants". The price for each prostitution session was 15,000 USD (about 360 million VND), of which Long paid 60 million VND to each girl.
According to the police, prostitution brokerage activities in the showbiz world are still going strong. Prostitutes often participate in beauty contests or are movie stars, models, singers, and social media celebrities. Sex buyers are often business owners and wealthy people. Brokers and sex buyers operate very sophisticatedly, requiring an introduction or guarantee to carry out the transaction.
