“Coach Huu Thang let Tuan Anh stay at the hotel. He did not reveal the reason,” a member of the Vietnam team’s coaching staff told VnExpress.

Tuan Anh suffered a knee injury while training at Yokohama Club (Japan). Since returning to Vietnam to join the team on November 4, he has been present on the training ground but has worked separately with doctors and fitness experts. However, when the team arrived in Yangon, the midfielder born in 1995 was immediately absent. Coach Huu Thang kept Tuan Anh's injury a secret, and the players and coaching staff were not allowed to reveal it.

On the afternoon of November 15, after the flight to Yangon,Tuan Anh always showssad. He tried to avoid the media lens. Many teammates walked behind and patted his shoulder, as if to comfort the midfielder who grew up in HAGL's training center. In 2015, Tuan Anh's dream of participating in the SEA Games was broken due to injury.

The Vietnamese team will travel to Myanmar with 25 players. However, each team is only allowed to register 23 players for the official tournament. On November 18, Coach Huu Thang will finalize the registration list. The two eliminated players will be given tickets to return to Vietnam.

If Tuan Anh does not recover in time, it will be a big loss for the Vietnamese team in their journey to win the AFF Cup 2016 championship. The last time he played for the team, the midfielder born in 1995 shone, scoring and assisting to help his team beat North Korea 5-2 in a friendly match in Ho Chi Minh City.
