Vietnamese Film Week in the United States
Six Vietnamese feature films will be screened in Hawaii, Washington D.C., and New York during Vietnam Film Week in the United States (July 4-18).
The Vietnam Film Department announced that six feature films, including: "Winning the Lottery" (comedy, directed by Dustin Nguyen), "Aspiration for Thang Long" (an epic mythological film, directed by Luu Trong Ninh), "Children of the Village" (a film about war and reconciliation, directed by Nguyen Duc Viet), and the psychological-action films: "The Blind Knight" (directed by Luu Huynh), "The Red Carpet Secret" (directed by Victor Vu), and "The Return of Glory" (Victor Vu), will be presented to American audiences.
The six films mentioned above were commissioned by the State or produced with investment from private film companies. They are films that have won awards domestically and internationally or are popular with audiences, reflecting the history, culture, country, and people of Vietnam.
On the other hand, many of the film locations are famous cultural tourist destinations and natural heritage sites, which will contribute to promoting the filmmaking potential of Vietnam.
In addition to promoting Vietnamese cinema, the film week also featured a tourism clip about Vietnam at the locations showcasing the six films: Doris Duke Cinema (Hawaii), Freer and Sackler Galleries (Washington DC), and AMC Cinema (New York).
As part of Film Week, the Ao Dai Festival and a party showcasing Vietnamese culture, tourism, and cuisine will be held on the Hawaiian coast…
Organizing the Vietnamese Film Week in the United States is an activity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
