In the first week of the meeting, the National Assembly will approve the appointment of the Minister of Transport and the Prime Minister by secret ballot.
The 4th session of the 14th National Assembly opened this morning and lasted 26 days, including 11 days of live television.

The National Assembly will spend time considering and deciding on personnel issues, approving the dismissal of Mr. Truong Quang Nghia from the position of Minister of Transport and Mr. Phan Van Sau from the position of Government Inspector General; and approving the appointment of the Minister of Transport and the Government Inspector General by secret ballot.
As it is the year-end session, the National Assembly will spend about 15 days reviewing, discussing reports and deciding on a number of important national issues including: the 2017 socio-economic development plan and state budget, the 2018 socio-economic development plan, state budget estimates and central budget allocation plan; reports on the enforcement of judgments, anti-corruption, and crime prevention and control.
Two contents were broadcast live for the first time: handling complaints and denunciations and anti-corruption work.
The resolution on mechanisms and policies for development specifically for Ho Chi Minh City will also be reported and discussed at the National Assembly hall before being voted on at the end of the session.
In addition, the National Assembly will spend a lot of time discussing and voting on many other important issues such as: Investment policy to build some expressway sections on the North-South route in the East in the 2017-2020 period; Resolution on the project of land acquisition, compensation, support, and resettlement of Long Thanh international airport...
Regarding the education sector, Minister Phung Xuan Nha will present a report on postponing the implementation of the new general education program and textbooks before the National Assembly votes on November 20.
At this session, the National Assembly continued to spend 3 days (November 15-17) on the question and answer session.

Among the draft laws discussed and commented on by the National Assembly are the Law on Cyber Security, the Law on Protection of State Secrets, the Law on National Defense (amended), and the Law on Anti-Corruption (amended).
