Week of honoring sea and island cultural heritage

A cultural space and sea and island tourism will be recreated at the Vietnam Cultural and Art Exhibition Center (No. 2 Hoa Lu, Hanoi), within the framework of the "Vietnam Sea and Island Culture and Tourism Week" to celebrate Vietnam Heritage Day (November 23), taking place from November 20-24.

The Vietnam Navy Museum, Border Guard Museum and Vietnam Coast Guard also exhibit Vietnam's seas and islands with the theme "Building and protecting the country's seas and islands", aiming to introduce to the public the heroic tradition of the armed forces in the struggle to preserve sovereignty over seas and islands, build life, and preserve the cultural identity of island residents...

In particular, the Naval Museum will display 121 historical documents and maps affirming sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos, including: 19 Nguyen Dynasty records; 5 Han Nom versions recording the establishment of the army to survey the Hoang Sa territories; 60 maps proving Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos; 15 versions of administrative documents of France and the Republic of Vietnam on the exercise of sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago.

The Coast Guard Museum introduces outstanding images related to the event of China illegally placing the Haiyang Shiyou 981 drilling rig deep in Vietnam's exclusive economic zone and continental shelf and the process of fighting on the ground by the Vietnam Coast Guard and successfully completing the task of protecting sovereignty assigned by the Party, State, Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense and people...
