Muong Ham festival opening ceremony

(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of the 5th day of the Lunar New Year (January 27, 2012), ethnic minorities in the mountainous district of Quy Hop and tourists from all over the country came to Muong Ham (Chau Cuong commune) to attend the 7th Muong Ham Festival. This is a traditional cultural festival of the locality.

The festival was restored according to the wishes of the Muong people, an opportunity for everyone to review the cultural traditions and martial spirit of their ancestors. This year, the festival officially took place on the 5th and 6th of the Lunar New Year, with the following contents: crossbow shooting, tug of war, stick pushing, stilt walking, volleyball, art performances, and Thai Lai Pao writing competition.

This is one of the opening festivals for this Spring Festival season in western Nghe An.
