For a long time, the "4 Yen" land (including Yen Na, Yen Tinh, Yen Hoa and Yen Thang communes) of Tuong Duong district (Nghe An) has always been "disturbed" by "gold bandits". (Baonghean.vn) -For a long time, the "4 Yen" land (including Yen Na, Yen Tinh, Yen Hoa and Yen Thang communes) of Tuong Duong district (Nghe An) has always been "disturbed" by "gold bandits". The situation of indiscriminate and unorganized gold mining has had a negative impact on the lives of local people. Due to the lack of planning, the system of streams, fields and roads in many places have been "chopped up", water sources are seriously polluted, and the land fund for production is gradually shrinking...

Not to mention that alluvial gold mining is the main cause of flash floods, landslides and landslides in recent times. Not to mention that dozens, hundreds of people from other places come to mine gold, causing social disorder and giving rise to many social evils such as drug addiction, gambling and prostitution.

Excavators are digging up Cha Ha stream - a location close to the national highway, causing a risk of breaking the traffic route on National Highway 48C (the photos in the article were taken at 5:30 p.m. on August 28, 2012 at Ban Bon, Yen Na commune, Tuong Duong district).

Turn the rice fields upside down.

The bulldozer "chews" an entire section of asphalt road on the inter-commune road.

In late August, we had to go through the communes of Yen Thang, Yen Hoa and Yen Na and saw that gold mining was still going on at a large scale, despite repeated warnings from the press. Huoi Nguyen River, Cha Ha Stream and many streams were “plowed over and over again”, the water was red and always thick with mud. Many hills and mountains were dug up and devastated.

In particular, the rice fields and production land along Cha Ha stream are also being dug up by various machines, becoming giant gravel fields. In particular, in Bon village, Yen Na commune, a series of excavators, bulldozers and dozens of "gold thieves" are trying to dig up the rice fields and cultivated land of the people. More seriously, these bulldozers and excavators also "bite" the edge of the asphalt road of the inter-commune road (from Cua Rao to Yen Hoa, connecting to National Highway 48C). With these "bites", just a heavy rain, rising water will cause this road section to collapse and break, which is dangerous and has a significant impact on people's lives, and traffic jams are inevitable.

It is worth mentioning that when we stopped the car to film, the gold miners in Bon village stood there pointing and challenging us. Some even chased the car to cause trouble. Alluvial gold mining in Tuong Duong has left serious consequences, and "gold bandits" continue to brazenly destroy rivers and streams in Tuong Duong.

The reality of gold mining on a large scale and taking place right next to the national highway, is it possible that the authorities at all levels do not know, or turn a blind eye, or are unable to control it? It is thought that, in the rainy season, if the "gold bandits" continue to run rampant, the risk of flash floods and landslides in the area is inevitable.
