(Baonghean.vn) - Taking advantage of the favorable rainy weather, many villages in Tuong Duong district hurriedly went to the forest to plant rattan.according to the VIRI Project.
This is a rattan planting project of VIRI (Vietnam Rural Industries Research Institute), implemented in some districts of Nghe An province. In Tuong Duong district, the project is implemented in the communes: Tam Thai, Tam Quang, Yen Hoa, Yen Na, Nga My, Yen Thang and Xieng My. The purpose of the project is to provide raw materials for the rattan and bamboo weaving profession in the district, thereby creating conditions for the locality to restore the traditional rattan and bamboo weaving profession for the people, creating jobs and increasing income in the community.

The rattan planting project aims to restore and develop the rattan weaving industry in the district. Mr. Tran Duy Thanh, owner of a rattan weaving production facility in Quang Phuc village, Tam Dinh commune, is using a rattan splitting machine. |

| Currently, in Tuong Duong district, there are 6 villages with bamboo and rattan weaving profession. The products are annually participated in local fairs and sold in the market, creating jobs for hundreds of workers. |
