US General Warns North Korea Could Be Wiped Out in 15 Minutes

Retired US general warns North Korea will be destroyed in a short time if it launches a nuclear attack on the US and South Korea.

"If North Korea forces the US to launch a full-scale nuclear response, within minutes of Pyongyang's first attack on Seoul, North Korea will be completely wiped out," Business Insider quoted retired US Air Force Lieutenant General Tom McInerney as saying today.

General McInerney said the entire process of US forces receiving warning of a nuclear attack and deploying countermeasures would not take more than 15 minutes.

According to Mr. McInerney, in order to deal with surprise attacks, the US Air Force always maintains combat readiness with intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and nuclear bombers at any time. In case of receiving orders to respond to North Korea, the nearest nuclear bombers in Guam will carry out this mission.A US nuclear retaliation would certainly push North Korea into destruction.

General McInerney's statement came as the US intelligence community recently released a report showing that North Korea has likely miniaturized a nuclear warhead to mount on a ballistic missile, a major step that will certainly increase tensions in the region.

North Korea said today it is "carefully examining the operational plan to strike with enveloping firepower the areas around Guam with the Hwasong-12, a medium-to-long-range strategic ballistic rocket."
