Jade Buddha statue for world peace returns to Vietnam
On the morning of April 23, Buddhists, people from near and far, and tourists from all over the world will be able to admire the jade Buddha statue for world peace at Bai Dinh Pagoda (Ninh Binh province).
This is the second time the Jade Buddha statue for world peace has come to Vietnam (the first time was in 2009). The Jade Buddha for world peace is the largest statue carved from a block of high-quality jade in Northern Canada, the statue was carved in Thailand according to the model of the Shakyamuni Buddha statue currently worshiped inside the Mahabodhi Stupa in Bodh Gaya (India).

The Jade Buddha statue for world peace is 2.7m high and weighs over 4 tons, sitting on a 1.4m high plaster throne. The total weight of the Jade Buddha statue after installation is nearly 8 tons. The size and beauty of the Jade Buddha is considered the greatest and most solemn masterpiece in the world today.
Visitors who come to admire the Buddha statue will also be given a souvenir card of the Jade Buddha for World Peace at Bai Dinh Pagoda on the opening day.
Before arriving at Bai Dinh Pagoda, from March 27 to April 5, the Jade Buddha statue of World Peace was displayed at Hoang Phuc Pagoda, My Thuy Commune, Le Thuy District (Quang Binh).
