The August Revolution of 1945 was the first great victory of our people since the Party took leadership, opening a major turning point in the history of the Vietnamese nation. 80 years have passed, but the spiritual value of that historic Autumn remains intact. In the digital age, that heritage is not only preserved through historical pages and artifacts, but also spreads strongly in the awareness and actions of each citizen, becoming a source of motivation urging them to contribute to building and defending the Fatherland.

When history "lives" in the hearts of young people

These days, Trung communal house relic (Tan Nam block, Truong Vinh ward) has become a meeting place for many young people and history lovers.

Amidst the crowd of people visiting the relic, Nguyen Anh Thu (born in 2006), in Van Tien block, Truong Vinh ward, gently opened her phone and scanned the QR code placed right in front of the communal house. After just a few seconds, rich and valuable information about the relic appeared.

Pointing at the QR code they had just scanned, Thu and the other young people excitedly tried to see how many details they could guess correctly about this place. Accordingly, the communal house was built in 1843 (Nguyen Dynasty). Here, during the climaxNghe Tinh Sovietis where revolutionary activities took place under the leadership of the Party. In particular, during the August General Uprising in 1945, on August 17, the Viet Minh led the people of Yen Dung village to rise up and seize power and chose Trung communal house as their headquarters.

After the August Revolution, following President Ho Chi Minh’s call to eradicate illiteracy, Trung communal house became a place for people to study culture and eliminate illiteracy. Through many revolutionary periods, Trung communal house was also a gathering place to send off generations of local youth to join the army to protect the Fatherland.

Contributing to the story, Mr. Le Dang Sang - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Truong Vinh Ward said that in order for the relic and its historical and cultural values ​​to be widely spread, local socio-political organizations have regularly organized "back to the source" classes, combined with thematic activities, and integrated the ceremony to admit new union and party members right at the relic site.

These activities not only help the young generation better understand the revolutionary traditions of their homeland, but also create a connection between historical knowledge and practical experience, arousing pride and awareness, and responsibility to preserve and promote heritage.

To better understand the interest of the general public in historical values ​​in general and the August Revolution in particular, one cannot miss the exhibition space at the Nghe An - Soviet Nghe Tinh Museum.

Here, besides documentary photos and golden pages of history, many people stopped longer in front of artifacts associated with the August 1945 General Uprising. Notably, there were primitive weapons such as knives and swords that the Red Self-Defense Forces in Nghe An used to protect villages and communes, and move towards seizing power.

Along with that, the museum also preserves a particularly valuable artifact: the flag that the people raised high on the first day of taking power in the August Revolution. Each artifact still bears the mark of a time of fire and bullets and the indomitable spirit of our ancestors.

In addition to the above relics and artifacts, Nghe An also has many relics that attract the attention of many people and tourists such asMr. Hoang Vien's housein Lam Thanh commune (Chau Nhan commune, old Hung Nguyen district). This was the Party's base during the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement and the General Uprising in 1945. Or asVo Liet communal house, Kim Bang commune (Vo Liet commune, old Thanh Chuong district) - a place that marked many historical events and was once a gathering point for forces to seize power during the August Revolution.

Those places have become a strong red thread in the current rhythm of life, connecting the past with the present, so that history is not only in books but also exists, accompanying the development of the homeland.

Values ​​that last forever

The historic Autumn of 1945 took place widely throughout Nghe An, becoming a shining milestone in the journey of fighting for the independence of the homeland. Going back in time through valuable documents of the Nghe An Historical Association and the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the seething atmosphere of the days of seizing power is clearly shown.

On August 8, 1945, the Inter-Provincial Congress of Viet Minh delegates in Nghe Tinh was held to discuss the leadership plan to prepare for a general uprising to seize power. Faced with the rapid change in the situation, the Standing Committee of Viet Minh in Nghe Tinh quickly established the Uprising Committee and advocated "seizing power starting from society to district capitals".

On August 15, 1945, the Standing Committee of the Viet Minh Nghe Tinh issued an uprising directive. In all localities, the Uprising Committee and the Provisional People's Revolutionary Committee were quickly established. Leaflets and banners appeared everywhere, and the red flag with a yellow star fluttered brightly in village communal houses. Many rallies, speeches, demonstrations, marches, and demonstrations of power broke out consecutively, creating a revolutionary offensive atmosphere.

The uprising to seize power in August 1945 in the whole Nghe An province achieved a brilliant victory within 9 days. When the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity came, the Viet Minh of Nghe Tinh province creatively and flexibly applied the policy of the Viet Minh Front; organized and gathered all classes of people to revolt and achieved victory.

The victory of the uprising to seize power in Nghe An contributed significantly to the overall victory of the whole country, breaking the chains of slavery of the fascist colonialist-feudal regime in our country, opening a new era for the history of the Vietnamese nation.

80 years have passed, but the lessons and historical significance of the 1945 General Uprising to seize power still retain their value today. It is the very successful and effective application of the combination of “time, opportunity, and timing”; it is the spirit of solidarity, unity, and unity of all our people under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh.

Those lessons are a solid foundation for Nghe An to achieve important achievements in the cause of promoting industrialization, modernization and international integration, striving to build the province into a model province as desired by President Ho Chi Minh during his lifetime.
