"General" Vinh officially says goodbye to HP.HN
It was not until 8:00 p.m. last night that the meeting between Mr. Kien and Coach Nguyen Thanh Vinh regarding the personnel issue of the HP.HN coaching board ended.
Although he really wanted to continue working with the Capital team, Coach Nguyen Thanh Vinh said goodbye after 3 years of working together. This event signals that there will be many changes at HP.HN in the near future.
“On September 6, Mr. Tuan called me to clarify that HP.HN was transferred to Mr. Kien. I was very surprised and saddened by this news. Mr. Tuan made an appointment to meet me on September 8 to discuss specifically whether he would continue working at HP.HN or not. As scheduled, Mr. Tuan said that he wanted to focus on his business at Hoa Phat Group so he would quit football. All work now is handed over to Mr. Kien to handle,” said coach Nguyen Thanh Vinh.
Since the news of Mr. Long and Mr. Tuan retiring from football has caused confusion for many people working at HP.HN. Coach Nguyen Thanh Vinh still has 1 year left on his contract at the capital team, but many people predict that the possibility of him continuing his work at HP.HN is not high when there are strong changes at the upper level.
This veteran coach confided: “After meeting Mr. Tuan, I went to see Mr. Kien to clarify my resignation from the head coach position. Honestly, I was surprised because Mr. Kien is very passionate about football. He said that next year he will do football differently, investing heavily to create a strong team that can compete for achievements and high rankings. But I have already decided, after so many years away from home, I wanted to rest for a while, so I resigned.”
Today, Coach Nguyen Thanh Vinh will pack up and leave the team to return to Vinh City to live with his family.
After 3 years of association, Coach Nguyen Thanh Vinh made many impressions such as helping HP.HN quickly return to the V.League after 1 year of relegation, and helping the capital team stay in the league for 2 consecutive years.
