Recruiting 180 nursing and care assistant candidates to work in Japan

During the first 3 years of work, candidates will receive a salary of 130,000-150,000 Yen/month, equivalent to 1,300-1,600 USD/month.

On the afternoon of October 20, in Hanoi, the Department of Overseas Labor Management, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a press conference to inform about the program to select Vietnamese nurses and caregivers to work in Japan, course 3.

Accordingly, 180 candidates will be selected and receive 12 months of free Japanese language training in Vietnam at a training facility organized by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in coordination with the Japanese focal point. During the training period, students will be provided with free accommodation, meals and living expenses. At the end of the course, candidates will take the N3 level Japanese language proficiency test.

Candidates who achieve the N3 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test will be introduced by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in coordination with the Japanese focal point to Japanese hospitals and health care facilities that need to recruit nursing and caregiving candidates for selection. Those selected will be able to study and work in Japan for a maximum of 3 years for nursing candidates (with one year extension) and a maximum of 4 years for caregiving candidates (with one year extension). During their study and work in Japan, candidates are allowed to take the Japanese National Certificate exam for nurses and caregiving. Nursing candidates can take the exam once a year, caregiving candidates can take the exam once in the 4th year. If passed, candidates will be granted a National Certificate for Japanese nurses and caregiving and will be allowed to stay and work long-term.

Mr. Tong Hai Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Overseas Labor Management, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said: “When coming to Japan, candidates will work as nursing assistants and caregivers. During the first 3 years of working as candidates, they will receive a salary of 130,000-150,000 Yen/month, equivalent to 1,300-1,600 USD/month. After that time, if they participate in the exam to obtain a Certificate of Practice in Japan and pass the exam, they will be eligible to work long-term in Japan. At that time, they will receive the same salary and benefits as nurses and caregivers in Japan. That means the salary can be from 270,000-300,000 Yen/month”./.
