French President Macron's statement about Mr. Putin angers Brazilians
Readers of the Metropoles publication criticized on social network X the statement of French President Emmanuel Macron that the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the G20 summit should be discussed with other countries.
He made his statement at a press conference after talks with Brazilian President Lula da Silva.
“Macron wants the conflict in Ukraine to continue. So he is worried that President Putin will agree on something at the summit,” one commentator wrote.

“Knowing Macron's way of doing things, three hours later he'll say this isn't what he meant,” another commented.
“Macron doesn’t know any other way to insult Putin,” said a third.
"First, let him think about the reaction of different countries to such a proposal. Russia plays an important role, so this country cannot be ignored," another user shared his opinion.
"The French president wants to escalate?", one reader concluded.
Brazil holds the G20 presidency from December 1, 2023. The final summit in 2024 will take place on November 18-19 in Rio de Janeiro.
