Honoring the candidates who won high prizes at the 2014 National Skills Competition
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of June 4, in Vinh City, the Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to honor collectives and individuals who achieved achievements at the 8th National Skills Competition in 2014, which was recently held. Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended and gave a speech.

This year's National Skills Competition has 59 delegations with 496 contestants from 5 ministries, branches, 3 economic groups, 1 association and 50/63 provinces and cities nationwide to compete in 22 occupations. In particular, Nghe An delegation participated in the Competition with 9 contestants selected from 4 vocational training institutions including Vinh University of Technical Education (1 contestant), Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College (4 contestants), Vietnam - Germany Technical College (2 contestants) and Nghe An Industrial Economic Vocational College (2 contestants). There were also 8 experts who were former teachers at the above vocational schools.
As a result, 8/9 contestants won prizes; in which Dang Duy Tuan, a contestant from the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical College won first prize, 2 other contestants won third prize, and the rest won consolation prizes. Compared to the 2012 contest, this is an outstanding achievement. That year, Nghe An had 7 contestants participating, only 1 won third prize, the rest won consolation prizes.
It is known that Dang Duy Tuan, who won first prize, will go to Korea to train to join the Vietnamese team to participate in the 10th ASEAN Skills Competition held in July this year and the 43rd World Skills Competition in Brazil in 2015, with a training period of 13 months and a total cost of 80,000 USD.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Le Xuan Dai presented certificates of merit and a prize of 62 million VND from the Provincial People's Committee to 8 prize-winning contestants and vocational training experts participating in the contest. Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that through the contest, vocational schools have affirmed their brand and vocational training quality and have made an important contribution to the development of human resources in the province. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested vocational training institutions in the province to strive further in affirming the quality of vocational training through participating in movement activities such as the National Vocational Skills Competition, the National Excellent Teacher Competition, the Self-made Vocational Equipment Competition, etc. He hoped that in the upcoming contests, the number of contestants would be higher, the participating occupations would be more diverse, and the results would be better to affirm Nghe An's position as the center for human resource training in the North Central region, affirming the potential of the province's human resources.
