College Admissions 2016: Things Candidates Are Not Allowed to Do

March 28, 2016 08:30

In 2016 university admissions, candidates are not allowed to change their preferences during the admissions process and must consider group admissions.

The Ministry of Education and Training said that the admission period starts from August 1 to October 20 for university programs and ends on November 15 for college programs.

In the first round of admission (from August 1 to 12), each candidate can register for a maximum of 2 schools, and each school the candidate can register for a maximum of 2 majors in order of priority from 1 to 2. Candidates are not allowed to change their preferences during the admission round.

In the additional admission rounds (round 1: from August 21 to 31; round 2 from September 11 to 21), each round, candidates can register for a maximum of 3 schools and in each school, they can register for a maximum of 2 majors in order of priority from 1 to 2. Candidates are not allowed to change their wishes in each admission round.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the fact that candidates are not allowed to change their wishes during the admission round is to reduce the situation of "fake" candidates and massive withdrawal and submission of applications on the last day of each admission round, causing chaos and making it impossible for schools to control the admission process.

Group registration is not considered for admission to schools outside the group.

The new point in registering for university and college admission in 2016 is that candidates can register for admission to schools that enroll students in groups (collectively called school groups).

Accordingly,Candidates can use the maximum number of majors allowed for each admission round (4 majors in round I and 6 majors in additional admission rounds) to register for admission to many schools in the group and arrange the registered majors in order of priority. (For example, in round I, candidates can register for admission to 4 different schools in the group if each school registers for 1 major or register for 3 different schools in the group if registering for 2 majors at 1 school and the remaining 2 majors are registered at 2 schools).

Candidates who have registered for admission to 2 or more schools in the group in round I or 3 or more schools in the group in the additional round are not allowed to register for admission to schools outside the group.

School groups shall prescribe application forms in accordance with these regulations and publicly announce the admission methods between majors in order of priority in the application form.

If the exam is suspended, the candidate will lose 2 rights.

Regarding the National High School Exam, the Ministry of Education and Training also issued regulations that if a candidate violates the regulations and is suspended from taking one subject during the National High School Exam, he/she will not be allowed to take the remaining subjects. This also means that the candidate will lose two benefits: recognition of high school graduation and the opportunity to apply for university and college admission./.
