Propaganda to celebrate major national holidays in 2015

2015 has many major national holidays, and is also the year of an event of great significance to the country - Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 12th National Congress of the Party.

The Central Propaganda Department has issued guidelines for propaganda to celebrate major holidays in 2015 as follows:

Propaganda to celebrate major holidays in 2015 aims to educate historical traditions, foster and promote patriotism, revolutionary heroism, the spirit of great solidarity, national pride and self-reliance; affirm the achievements of our Party and people in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland, and carrying out the cause of national renewal; affirm the steadfastness in following the socialist path under the leadership of the Party; consolidate and strengthen people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the management of the State.

Strengthen the strength of national unity, create social consensus; encourage the entire Party, people and army to successfully implement the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels, compete to achieve achievements to welcome the 12th National Congress of the Party.

Commemorative propaganda activities are organized in many appropriate forms, with focus, key points, practicality, safety, economy, avoiding ostentation; creating revolutionary atmosphere, promoting effective implementation of political tasks of localities and units.

In 2015, major holidays organized by the National Organizing Committee include the 40th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2015), the 100th anniversary of the birth of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh (July 1, 1915 - July 1, 2015), the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2015) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2015).

Major holidays organized by ministries, branches, provinces and centrally run cities include the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2015) and the Lunar New Year; Hung Kings' death anniversary (March 10 of the lunar calendar); the 125th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 9, 2015); the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2015) and the 10th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2015).

Holidays celebrated at the level of ministries, branches, provinces and centrally run cities: 85th anniversary of Soviet-Nghe Tinh Day (September 12, 1930 - September 12, 2015); 75th anniversary of the Southern Uprising Day (November 23, 1940 - November 23, 2015); 110th anniversary of the birth of comrade Hoang Quoc Viet (May 28, 1905 - May 28, 2015).

International holidays: 145th anniversary of the birth of V. Lenin (April 22, 1870 - April 22, 2015); 195th anniversary of the birth of F. Engels (November 28, 1820 - November 28, 2015).

Regarding implementation, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Information and Communications coordinates with the Central Propaganda Department to direct press and media agencies to report and propagate on major national holidays in a timely manner, in line with political and ideological orientation.

The Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism directs and guides the organization of information, propaganda, cultural, artistic, sports, exhibition, cinema activities... to serve the people, especially in remote areas, and resistance base areas; encourages the creation of new literary and artistic works about the nation's historical and cultural traditions, about outstanding collectives and individuals in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presides over and coordinates with the Central External Relations Committee to direct and guide Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and the overseas Vietnamese community to organize propaganda and celebrate major national holidays; at the same time, guide foreign press reporters to report and reflect on commemorative activities, focusing on major events such as: the 85th anniversary of the Party's founding, the 40th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; the 125th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The Party Delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Central Committees of socio-political organizations develop plans to organize propaganda and celebrate major national holidays in conjunction with propaganda plans for Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 12th National Congress of the Party; promote patriotic emulation movements, promote the process of industrialization, modernization and international integration; maintain independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, ensure political security, social order and safety; encourage cadres, members and union members to overcome difficulties, strive to compete in labor, production and business, contributing to the successful completion of the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Party.

Improve the quality and effectiveness of traditional propaganda and education forms associated with taking care of the material and spiritual life of cadres, union members, youth, students, workers and laborers in industrial and export processing zones, and foreign-invested enterprises.

The National Committee of Vietnam Literature and Arts Associations directs and guides Literature and Arts Associations of provinces and cities to do a good job of propagating and mobilizing organizations and individuals, especially artists and intellectuals, to create, promote and perform literary and artistic works of high political, ideological and artistic value to celebrate the country's major holidays.

The Vietnam Journalists Association directs and guides its branches and grassroots branches to do a good job of propaganda and mobilizing members to improve their political responsibility, professional qualifications and skills, actively contributing to improving the effectiveness of propaganda and education on traditions for all classes of people.

Central and industry press and radio agencies proactively develop rich, appropriate and commensurate propaganda programs with the historical significance of each event, with focus, key points and effectiveness.

Vietnam Television and Voice of Vietnam prioritize broadcasting time for special columns and programs on historical education during prime time; at the same time, prepare conditions to organize well the live radio and television broadcasts of commemorations and major activities. Vietnam Television and Radio and Television Stations of provinces and cities proactively coordinate with the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio to exploit and broadcast documentaries on national history, the Party, and Uncle Ho.

The Propaganda Departments of provincial, municipal, and central Party Committees, and socio-political organizations closely follow the guidance of the Central Propaganda Department, advise and assist Party Committees in directing and organizing propaganda activities and commemorating major holidays in 2015 in appropriate forms, in conjunction with propaganda for Party Congresses at all levels towards the 12th National Party Congress; focus on directing and orienting information and regular propaganda for press and radio agencies, reporters and propagandists.
