If they had successfully taken advantage of the situations, the U19 Vietnam team would have had their second consecutive victory in England, instead of the unfortunate 2-2 draw against U19 Wimbledon.

Compared to the match against U19 Arsenal 5 days ago, coach Guillaume Graechen made a change in the starting lineup by letting Thanh Hau play from the start to replace the injured Tuan Anh.

This change does not change the playing style of U19 Vietnam, especially the initiative in attacking and the ability to coordinate, creating no small pressure on the opponent's goal.

However, in the 11th minute, U19 Vietnam unexpectedly conceded a goal, after a successful penalty kick by the home team U19 Wimbledon.

After conceding the goal, the spirit of the U19 Vietnam players did not decrease. Continuous scoring opportunities were created in front of the U19 Wimbledon goal, but it was not until the 35th minute that Cong Phuong brought home the equalizer 1-1 after receiving a pass from Van Toan.

In the 45th minute, U19 Vietnam had a chance to increase the score to 2-1 when they were awarded a penalty when a Wimbledon U19 defender illegally blocked Van Toan in the penalty area. Unfortunately, on the 11m mark, Van Son failed to execute the penalty.

In the second half, U19 Vietnam made a personnel adjustment when Duy Manh was brought in by coach Graechen to replace Thanh Hau. Similar to the first half, Vietnam was the one with the advantage but conceded the first goal.

In the 60th minute, from a situation where Van Son lost the ball, U19 Wimbledon successfully took advantage to increase the score to 2-1. But just 3 minutes later, substitute player Duy Manh helped U19 Vietnam equalize 2-2 after a direct free kick from a distance of more than 20m.

In the remaining minutes of the match, U19 Vietnam continued to attack but unfortunately, the opportunities passed by one by one. Notably, in the 82nd minute, Cong Phuong launched a decisive shot, but unfortunately the ball hit the post and went out.
