Vietnam team will face China team on the first day of Tet at My Dinh Stadium

The draw for the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia will be held at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon (July 1) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Vietnam's representative attending the online draw is head coach Park Hang-seo.

According to the drawing rules, the Organizing Committee will draw group 6 first, including Vietnam and Lebanon. Vietnam is in group B, along with Oman, China, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Japan.

Group A includes: Iran, South Korea, Iraq, UAE, Syria, Lebanon.

Thus, the group stage of the Vietnamese team is considered to be more comfortable. In particular, as Coach Park Hang-seo wished, the Vietnamese team is not in the same group as South Korea, and will face China.

In the final qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup, the teams are divided into 6 seed groups. Accordingly, Coach Park's team is in group 6 with Lebanon. Group 1 includes Japan and Iran; group 2 includes Australia and South Korea; group 3 includes Saudi Arabia and the UAE; group 4 includes Iraq and China; group 5 includes Oman and Syria.

The two teams are divided into two groups, playing a round-robin tournament to determine the ranking points in each group. The top four teams in the two groups will go straight to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, while the two third-placed teams will compete in a play-off with representatives from another continent.

The matches of the Third Qualifying Round are scheduled to take place on: September 2, 2021, September 7, 2021, October 7, 2021, October 12, 2021, November 11, 2021, November 16, 2021, January 27, 2022, February 1, 2022, March 24, 2022 and March 29, 2022.
