In order to introduce new rice varieties with high productivity and output for mass production on inter-crop fields and apply new intensive farming technology according to the SRI program, and expand pest management according to the IPM program. In the Spring crop of 2014, Hoang Mai town organized the planting of Thai Xuyen 111 rice variety on a model field of 53 hectares, in Gia field in Quynh Vinh commune. Thai Xuyen 111 rice variety has a growing period of 130-140 days in the Spring crop, 108-112 days in the Summer crop, strong tillering, strong growth, transplanting, straight flag leaves, cold tolerance and good pest and disease resistance, tolerance to intensive farming, long grain, good rice quality, yield of 70-80 quintals/ha.

The large-scale field model has applied synchronous scientific and technological advances, so the rice plants grow healthily, have high uniformity, are drought-resistant, have good lodging resistance, and limit pests and diseases. Rice production in large-scale fields has reduced investment costs compared to normal, increased productivity and achieved higher economic efficiency, with a net profit of 10 million 990 thousand VND.

The successful construction of a large model field in 2014 in Quynh Vinh commune is the premise for building and replicating the model to other localities after completing the consolidation of agricultural land plots.
