In an interview with CNBC on December 13, technology billionaire Bill Gates said that President-elect Trump has the opportunity to "lead America through innovation."
The world's richest billionaire compared Mr. Trump to the late President John F. Kennedy, who led the United States to pioneer in the field of space science.
“I talked to him about innovation. The president-elect has seen a lot of things that haven’t gone as well as he expected. I think that, like President Kennedy did, whether it’s education, stopping disease, or breakthroughs in health care, ending polio or going further into space energy, there’s a very optimistic message that the Trump administration is going to reorganize things, get rid of regulatory barriers and get America to innovate,” Gates said.
Billionaire Bill Gates recently spoke on the phone with President-elect Trump about the power of innovation. This was the first time they spoke to each other, although they have many friends in common. Mr. Gates said he was sure that there would be more discussions between them on this issue in the future. In fact, yesterday, December 14, billionaire Bill Gates was one of the technology leaders who met with President-elect Trump at Trump Tower.
Billionaire Gates has previously signaled he will support Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in the November 8 election, but said his Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation remains open to the government no matter who becomes president.
