According to RIA Novosti, American billionaire Elon Musk believes that the conflict in Ukraine will soon end thanks to the plan of former President Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election.

“The pointless conflict will soon end. The time for instigators and speculators is over,” billionaire Elon Musk wrote on social network X on November 8, commenting on an article about Mr. Trump’s plan for Ukraine.

Earlier, the Wall Street Journal quoted sources as saying that Mr. Trump's delegation proposed freezing the conflict in Ukraine, creating a demilitarized zone along the front line and providing new weapons in exchange for Ukraine's promise to temporarily not join NATO.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the article was abstract in nature.

During his election campaign, candidate-elect Donald Trump promised that he would be able to reach a negotiated solution to the conflict in Ukraine. Mr. Trump has repeatedly stated that he would be able to resolve the conflict in Ukraine in one day.

Russia believes that this is too simple a solution to such a complex problem. In addition, Mr. Trump has repeatedly criticized the US approach to the conflict in Ukraine and also criticized President Zelensky. Therefore, at his rallies, candidate Trump has repeatedly called Mr. Zelensky a “fraud,” because each visit to the US ends with a billion-dollar aid package.

According to an article in Foreign Policy magazine, US President-elect Donald Trump will keep his promise to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, but not necessarily on terms favorable to Ukraine.

“Mr. Trump will certainly keep his promise and will seek a peace agreement,” said Foreign Policy magazine.

The problem for Ukraine is that peace will come on extremely unfavorable terms for the country. Foreign Policy points out that the reason for this is not the depletion of Western weapons and the severe shortage of personnel in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but the actual results of the Russian army on the battlefield, which cannot be ignored.

“So what would a peaceful solution in Ukraine look like? The territorial issue will be resolved by practical realities. And the recent achievements of the Russian military show that for Kiev, a peace agreement will be much more difficult than before,” Foreign Policy commented.
