Billionaire farmer
(Baonghean) - Coming to Nam Anh commune (Nam Dan), many people expressed their admiration for the will to get rich and the perseverance to overcome difficulties of "billionaire farmer" Ho Viet Bang in hamlet 4. With determination and knowledge, he built a model of a farm combined with animal feed business to bring in high income.
Few people know that, to have a spacious house and a strong economic potential like today, Mr. Ho Viet Bang had to go through very difficult times. Originally from Nam Anh, Nam Dan, but since 1980, his parents migrated to Chau Cuong commune (Quy Hop). In 1989, the whole family returned to their hometown to make a living. During the period of economic restructuring, realizing that livestock farming in his commune had the opportunity to develop, Ho Viet Bang decided to study intermediate veterinary medicine to serve the increasing livestock farming needs of the people. When he had a license in hand, he bought a small kiosk in the Chua market area to sell veterinary medicine and treat livestock and poultry. Whenever someone called, regardless of the time or weather, he tried his best to help because he understood that for farmers, buffaloes, cows, chickens, and pigs were a whole fortune. Also during his time as a freelance veterinarian, he realized that once livestock farming developed, the demand for food was also very large.
Thinking is doing, he discussed with his wife to boldly borrow capital from relatives and friends, combined with loans from the Agricultural Bank, and rented additional land adjacent to the animal feed business. Taking short-term to sustain long-term, focusing on "trust" in business, up to now his establishment is a level 1 agent of 4 animal feed factories, his family's market network includes 40 level 2 agents covering the entire Nam Dan district and also expanding to the areas of Hung Nguyen, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Tan Ky districts...
Mr. Bang also developed a model of livestock and poultry farming, taking advantage of resources from the animal feed business and providing poultry breeds (chickens, ducks, geese). In addition to laying hens and broilers at peak times, his family also raised 50-60 pigs. He shared: “Initially, we had to develop livestock farming strongly as a way to promote our products. When people see that we raise healthy, fat livestock and poultry, they will trust us to buy our animal feed products…”.
From nothing with the spirit of daring to think, daring to do and the will to overcome difficulties, knowing how to seize opportunities, up to now, Mr. Ho Viet Bang has become a "millionaire farmer" with a solid economic potential. From 2013 - 2014, the output of bran sold was about 250 tons/month, revenue of 3.125 billion VND, profit of nearly 94 million VND/month; corn for animal feed 10 tons/month, revenue of 57 million VND/month, profit of 10 million VND/month. In addition, his family sells 5 litters of pigs with 7,500 kg a year, earning about 345 million VND, minus expenses, net profit of about 80 million VND/year. Total revenue reached about 39 billion VND/year, minus expenses, net profit of more than 1 billion, 328 million VND. Thanks to that, he was able to build a spacious house, build a warehouse with an area of 300m2, buy 3 cars of various types to serve the travel and transportation. His family also created jobs for 4-10 workers, with an income of 4-6 million VND/month.
Coming from hardship, millionaire farmer Ho Viet Bang is very sympathetic to people in difficult circumstances. Therefore, he is always willing to help the workers he is using and neighbors in difficulty such as: lending capital, seeds, guiding effective business methods. Over the past 5 years, he has helped 20 households with a total value of more than 120 million VND and has always been an exemplary leader in contributing to the implementation of local movements such as mobilizing capital to build rural traffic, helping families with preferential policies, poor children... Although he has become a business owner, he is still very enthusiastic about working, directly loading and unloading goods with workers, directly taking care of chickens and pigs on his family farm. He said that is also a way to educate his children to love work and appreciate the effort put in.
With the results achieved in production and business, his family was awarded a certificate of merit by the People's Committee of Nam Dan district and Nam Anh commune as a family with good production and business. He is also one of the typical examples recognized in the patriotic emulation movement of Nam Dan district, period 2010 - 2015.
